Richard nixon’s personal presidential intervention is the only reason I had the pleasure of meeting my Hungarian grandfather from then Romania - just once - before he died
R.M.N, never Left 👍. Later in life a true Statesment. 🇺🇸The 37th was one of the finest Human beings. Sad what happened. But he overcome the whole mess. Rest in peace Mr. President.
He had close calls with death during the early months after his resignation. He was also a bankrupt. At one point, his bank account balance showed that he had only $500 left, and he was facing legal bills of over $750,000, overdue mortgage loan repayments in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, back tax demands of over $200,000, and property taxes on his San Clemente home (about $37,000/year).
Actually 4 times because your in twice as Vice President. I've seen that program. However, it was produced before I was born so I am not connected with it! :)
@@TeamTrumpUSA Trump did not do the impossible, he did the obvious and only stirred the pot and divided America further, whereas reagan and nixon both won massive landslides in their respective elections when trump and biden where neck and neck.
@@TeamTrumpUSA hmm indeed, he spoke what the average American thought so much he didn't get re-elected by the average American! joe Biden is in office right now because trump is a incompetent fool who got us completely embarrassed us by losing a trade war with china, at least Biden has some qualifications for the presidency unlike trump, who is just a businessman , and IM A REPUBLICAN not a democrat. trump has not only divided our nation he has divided the republican party. people like you don't get that trump is a opportunist and doesn't care whatsoever about America, he makes wild promises for America and attempts to deliver but fails.
I don't think anybody could have anticipated just how disruptive and hostile the crowd at Oxford would be. Oxford was, at the time, a very conservative university. Cambridge, on the other hand, was about as far to the left as a university could get and thus occupied the antipodal position on the political spectrum. Consequently, I think Nixon and his entourage were expecting a friendlier welcome from their Oxford hosts. If so, then they must have been bitterly disappointed. While the audience within the Hall refrained (for the most part) from any overt demonstrations of disrespect or antipathy, their frigid aloofness had to be disconcerting to Nixon, whom I'm certain was expecting a warmer reception. I have to say though that while the behaviour of the audience inside the hall strained the boundaries of politeness and civilized decorum, the behaviour of the mob outside the Hall was absolutely, unquestioningly shameful. In the end, Nixon stood up to his Oxford antagonists in the same way he stood up against the riotous mob in Caracas: with courage and dignity. I don't care what Nixon did or didn't do in re Watergate. We saw the full measure of the man during these debates and I am proud to say he was my President.
That was a great talk. the protesters were outside. I think it was fairly predictable that they'd be there. last president who didn't decide to get rich off of influence peddling after he left office.
He had a poise you want in a leader... even with the enemy at the gates in Oxford. ..man was tough and Watergate shouldn't define or dominate all his accomplisments
He wasn't liberal. Watch his interviews. He was deeply suspicious of government intrusion into people's lives and wanted government to be kept as small as possible.
What a lovely speech hahaha... This guy was so full of crap... I don't know what makes me cringe more his dramatic pauses or him trying to portray sincerety.

Nixon 🇺🇲...the media smeared a president over Watergate ..
I'm not back. I've always been here. You all be safe, God bless President Trump and every single one of you.

Nixon -Regan -Trump. I love them all and voted for all of them 👍👍👍😄
I am sorry for this but placing Trump with Presidents Nixon and Reagan is a just stupid.

They are the greatest.
America isnt run by its President's. Leave them all alone.
Nixon had guts to stand in the Oxford Union with protestors were outside.

I watched that, and democrat here, but yes he had balls to do that and answer questions without notes, and never miss a beat.

The last liberal president

A poised warrior....even in the face of Oxford brats...deluded by theory and never having to face the day to day....earning a living.....
This is almost unwatchable. Please have more people walking through the frame as well as more dishes clanging around. SMH
Richard E. Nixon.
