Mr H. The way you've displayed the chapters below each aired compilation on the main scene IS THE GAME CHANGER. I mean your show IS a gift. Mr H. With all teasing aside, I REALLY DO rely on these nightly. I have no vision in one eye and less in the other. I read for years and loved it. For these shows to come in to my home is a gift I wish I could express. M Elgin Illinois. City
I'm glad that we can be a part of something good! So glad to hear that you enjoy the shows! I try to put chapters in every compilation. I've missed a few of them.😬
@@HearthandHomeEntertainment Once you have posted a compilation, can you edit the description? I have seen other UA-camrs that forgot something important and they pinned the info in the comments. Sometimes, that's the best place anyway, lol!
I go to this site time and time again. I KNOW I will find any and ALL great radio show that I am looking for. This site is a true act of love. 💘 M. Elgin Illinois.
My brother went to school with Timothy Hutton1. He played on Ellery Queen, as the son. 👦 He did a stage play of Nero wolfe. He played Archie. I think he's the cutest. 🐭
Wow wow wow 😮 I love OTR shows but most of them have still pix/vids…I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the scenery of your videos!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you for these masterpieces!!! ❤from your new subscriber-Chelsie ❤
Harry Bartel was in many shows. Sherlock, this/Nero Wolfe, and at times, Sam Spade. 📻 I think there were others but I do not remember which. 👨 M. Elgin. Illinois. 🌼
Should make all available nero wolfe series. Dont get hung up on making look like a particular actor for each just use the same dor all just the voices might change. Kind of fun programs.
ok - unexpected, beautiful vids for all the episodes. :) 🌷 the actor playing the dentist sounds so familiar - as well as the character he’s playing. :)
The actor who played the dentist is Howard McNear, a veteran radio actor who played countless character parts, as well as the radio voice of Doc on the radio version of Gunsmoke and the role of Floyd the barber on the Andy Griffith Show on TV.
Your clip said the show ran from 50-1951. I thought it ran 6 years while on radio, which is why they went through so many Archie's. When did it end? 1956? M. Illinois.
The show ran from October 20, 1950, to April 27, 1951. I think the many Archies was just the nature of the radio business they had a pool of actors and sometimes were needed for different shows.
Hello! Thanks for the feedback. I like to switch up the videos with the shows. I can see which is your favorite!😀 I'm currently looking for more clips like that to add to the shows. Stay tuned!
The Archie here is too lecherous and disrespectfull towards every single female under 25. Gets on my nerves. And, as if theres something wrong wth the females if they don't date him. Ugh. But the Nero Wolfe here rules.
Yes! Agreed. His voice is perfect, his enunciation is less than. At least we have rewind, the poor folks in 1951 got only one shot at understanding Nero. Lol
I love the long compilation videos!!!
I'm so impressed with the great acting for radio 🔘🙂🔘🙂🔘

Nice that we get visuals to put us back in time as well as audio
Mr Greenstreet is almost as good as Maury Chackin. The Nero Wolf with him and Timothy Hutton is fantastic .
Maury got to speak lines written by Rex, too bad more of these radio plays didn't use source material.
So true
Maury Chaykin, that is …
I wish more episodes were made ❤
Sydney Greenstreet had a great voice.
thank you

As much as I like this program sometimes the mumbling speech of Nero is super annoying and incomprehensible.
Yes! Agreed. His voice is perfect, his enunciation is less than. At least we have rewind, the poor folks in 1951 got only one shot at understanding Nero. Lol
I think it's an on purpose touch of arrogance 😂
It is because he is morbidly obese.
