It's a good scene but poorly executed. You can appreciate the thought process that went into making the scenes but as a movie it struggles to hold up mainly because of how the actors played it. Nothing wrong with the actors themselves. Its probably what the director wanted but unfortunately looks very artificial.
Selva is a good director but he cannot do the same style of acting in all his movies. If you notice the actors in his movies all have similar body language. After sometime, you tend to pick on those little things which takes you out of the movie experience. I know its weird, because the same things you loved in his first movie may look horrendous in his subsequent ones...
