CHANGING OF THE GUARD is a formal ceremony where the incoming honor guards exchange duty with the outgoing honor guards at Rizal Monument, Luneta Park, Manila. Members of the Marine Security and Escort Group (MSEG) of the Philippine Marines Corps daily take turns in guarding the statue of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. This ceremony takes place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. and lasts around 45 minutes.

This is the first time.i watched the "changing of the guards" in the Phils in UA-cam only. The first one was in Arlington heroes cemetery in D.C.
I love this! It's solemn and dignified, well disciplined and significant. I wish it was more well-known, tourists would flock here the same way they do to Buckingham palace for the changing of the guard there. It would be great if it could be frequently televised live, to instill more national pride. 🇵🇭

When I was very young I saw the guards there in Luneta. I wanted to be like them, stand straight, walk tall, focus straight, be still. Maybe why I joined the US Army years later. First impression is a prime motivator.

Minsan din ako naka encounter ng Flag Retreat sa National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall at sobrang naamaze ako ang tatangkad at titikas soooo perfect ang galaw at masasabe mong matagal na nila ginagawa. Kasi po may batas na nagsasabing bawal magtayo ng mataas na gusali na makaka harang sa skyline ng luneta lalo na sa line of sight ng monumento. Sa palagay ko kahit sinong bayaning nakalagak dyan ay ganun ang magiging reaksyon ng mga tao hindi lang sa dahil si rizal ang nandyan

The ceremony as seen in the video is done every Saturday at around 4pm, i think.
Yung normal changing of the guards (walang banda musiko, walang mahabang seremonya) happens every 2 hours everyday until 6pm if i remember correctly.
