    I am currently doing my master project on developing a BCI for decoding imagined digits (Muse2 headset). I wonder about your choice of placement for the utah arrays. Do you place it in the motor cortex for control of prosthetics but in the PFC for things like word recognition/decoding? Do you implant several utah arrays per patient? Do you calculate differences in signals between these arrays for guiding movement? I have so many questions, it makes me so excited for the future of this field!

      I’m working towards going back to school for my bachelors in biomedical engineering and a minor in neuroscience. I have always been fascinated with our brains and the implementation of BCIs. Where did you start are you possibly free for a quick discussion about any relevant experiences in this field? It’s a career path i’m passionate about pursuing and would love any info and tips for getting started!

    Thank you so much for continuously making great content! I just have one question: Is the Neuroport Array just a different name for the Utah Array or are these two different BCIs?

    • @BCIGuy
      @BCIGuy  Рік тому +2

      Thanks! Yeah they both use the Utah array. Technically (and I learned this after we filmed) the neuroport “array” includes the pedestal (the port at the top of the skull). So it’s the Utah array plus the pedestal - the most important thing and the reason why it’s named differently is it is specially designed and cleared for human use

    I wonder how people get picked to be these BCI Pioneers? Cause despite not having accessibility needs, or a degree, or any uniqueness at all, I'd honor the chance to explore this frontier in exchange for the comfort of my body.
    If I put it that way it sound kinda morose I guess... If I'm being honest these people serve a lifelong job, with a some extraneous risk of mishap like stroke, or death, or worse. So while I'm not saying "sign me up doc, gimme da brain chip" lmao, the excitement of providing science and interacting with researchers leading such a promising field in humanity is something I'm starstricken by. If I ever achieve the finances for college someday, it will be to pursue this field. Hands-down one of the most fascinating topics being researched. Especially if it gets me closer to being a participant hahaha

    Can this somehow help with the research being done on schizophrenia ?

    • @massawakening1072
      @massawakening1072 6 місяців тому

      Schizophrenia is a great deal a spiritual disease too. Psychology in America is founded on false atheistic theories and dehumanizing beliefs that all we are is a biocomputer with no intuition or soul

    • @Huh22202
      @Huh22202 3 дні тому

      I think yes! It’s one of the reasons I am going to pursue a career in this field. I’ve lived with someone who struggled with schizophrenia and know firsthand how terrible it is. I want to one day give me that peace of mind and quiet the “voices”. I believe because schizophrenia on a basic level is our brain over producing certain signals(and of course sometimes increased grey matter which effects it). I believe we have a great shot at curing it once and for all with the help of BCI’s

    alot of people are trying to find happiness in life and only end up finding temporary happiness. the issue is that good cannot exist without bad. when you achieve one thing you will become happy and then suffer with depression afterwards. the only true solution to finding happiness is by hacking and reprogramming the brain.
    for some people the depression is so bad that it gives them suicidal thoughts. it makes me wonder whether we are actually any happier than other animals or if theres a state of balance where the sum of all good equals the sum of all bad.

      @@henrygarner646 woah dude. ignore that comment i wrote. i had severe suicidal depression and it was extremely painful. it was even worse than a kidney stone and affected me psychologically. my brain got hacked into thinking that the depression was normal. i think the trigger was from hershey special dark chocolate or sugar. either way its gone and im avoiding sugar. the depression went away within only 2 days after switching to elimination diet of meat + bread only.
