I know is that not the best quite ever?! She’s so quotable. I hosted a kick off event for the BCI Pioneers Coalition (organization of individuals who have participated in implantable research) and she just kept spitting gold.
I have had a bci implant for 3 1/2 years they have a log in and harass me daily smell taste and feel everything I found this out threw ct scan and mri I also found out take a heavy magnet it will stick to the implant because of the battery and tray I hope this helps someone going threw this there using these for tourture devices instead of helping people thanks
I am currently doing my master project on developing a BCI for decoding imagined digits (Muse2 headset). I wonder about your choice of placement for the utah arrays. Do you place it in the motor cortex for control of prosthetics but in the PFC for things like word recognition/decoding? Do you implant several utah arrays per patient? Do you calculate differences in signals between these arrays for guiding movement? I have so many questions, it makes me so excited for the future of this field!
I’m working towards going back to school for my bachelors in biomedical engineering and a minor in neuroscience. I have always been fascinated with our brains and the implementation of BCIs. Where did you start are you possibly free for a quick discussion about any relevant experiences in this field? It’s a career path i’m passionate about pursuing and would love any info and tips for getting started!
Thank you so much for continuously making great content! I just have one question: Is the Neuroport Array just a different name for the Utah Array or are these two different BCIs?
Thanks! Yeah they both use the Utah array. Technically (and I learned this after we filmed) the neuroport “array” includes the pedestal (the port at the top of the skull). So it’s the Utah array plus the pedestal - the most important thing and the reason why it’s named differently is it is specially designed and cleared for human use
Hi I’m a neuro engineering student who is desperately trying to get to Blackrock for an intership or something like that. What would yo suggest? Thanks, keep up with the awesome work!
I’m looking to pursue that same path, I am working towards going back to school for my bachelors in biomedical engineering & neuroscience. i’m still unsure if that’s the right path to work on BCIS
Brain stimulation technology and neuro feedback (mental exercises guided by brain monitoring) are being investigated and sometimes deployed to help with addiction!
Schizophrenia is a great deal a spiritual disease too. Psychology in America is founded on false atheistic theories and dehumanizing beliefs that all we are is a biocomputer with no intuition or soul
I think yes! It’s one of the reasons I am going to pursue a career in this field. I’ve lived with someone who struggled with schizophrenia and know firsthand how terrible it is. I want to one day give me that peace of mind and quiet the “voices”. I believe because schizophrenia on a basic level is our brain over producing certain signals(and of course sometimes increased grey matter which effects it). I believe we have a great shot at curing it once and for all with the help of BCI’s
I wonder how people get picked to be these BCI Pioneers? Cause despite not having accessibility needs, or a degree, or any uniqueness at all, I'd honor the chance to explore this frontier in exchange for the comfort of my body. If I put it that way it sound kinda morose I guess... If I'm being honest these people serve a lifelong job, with a some extraneous risk of mishap like stroke, or death, or worse. So while I'm not saying "sign me up doc, gimme da brain chip" lmao, the excitement of providing science and interacting with researchers leading such a promising field in humanity is something I'm starstricken by. If I ever achieve the finances for college someday, it will be to pursue this field. Hands-down one of the most fascinating topics being researched. Especially if it gets me closer to being a participant hahaha

alot of people are trying to find happiness in life and only end up finding temporary happiness. the issue is that good cannot exist without bad. when you achieve one thing you will become happy and then suffer with depression afterwards. the only true solution to finding happiness is by hacking and reprogramming the brain. for some people the depression is so bad that it gives them suicidal thoughts. it makes me wonder whether we are actually any happier than other animals or if theres a state of balance where the sum of all good equals the sum of all bad.
@@henrygarner646 woah dude. ignore that comment i wrote. i had severe suicidal depression and it was extremely painful. it was even worse than a kidney stone and affected me psychologically. my brain got hacked into thinking that the depression was normal. i think the trigger was from hershey special dark chocolate or sugar. either way its gone and im avoiding sugar. the depression went away within only 2 days after switching to elimination diet of meat + bread only.
It was such a pleasure having you and Colin out! Now, when can we get Marcus one of your lab coats?
Great job on developing the mark of the beast, you can put me on your watchlist already as i wont partake👋
I had a great time talking with you guys! Glad to be a part of this amazing video!
Thanks for showing us such amazing things!

This was interesting to see. Kudos to the teams working being this frontier science 👏🏽

@@BCIGuy thank you so much!
Great work!
Yes I like this kind of video and forward the link to many collaborators
Congrats. Nice video.
Thank you!!
Is there chip packaging team in Blackrock Neurotech?
I’d assume yes
Could you guys ever make a video about mind uploading pls?
like conscious upload to a computer?
@@BCIGuy yeah. I know it’s seen as pretty sci-fi but I would very much appreciate it.

Follow them on LinkedIn and check out their Jobs board. Try to find a manager for the field you’re interested in and message them :)

Good stuff guys!
What is that chip that is implanted in the brain?
The Utah/Neuroport Array? The Stentrode is the one implanted in the blood vessel
I want to know if addictions can be Cured with BCI

very cool
Cool indeed
Can this somehow help with the research being done on schizophrenia ?

Keep an eye on clinicaltrials.gov
I don’t think you’d find any studies for able bodied individual is for a while
cant wait to have adds shove into my brain 24/7
This is why we need to talk about this now! To make ethical guidelines and standards to prevent this! Thank you for your comment

different blackrock lol
is it the same blackrock we all know??? it cant be a coincidence
It’s a different company
