this video is an outstanding social commentary - spend all week working to buy shit you dont need then take it to a place you used to play into try to sell it cos you dont need it - sell it to people lookig for a bargain and you want the money - become a shopkeeper at the weekend - take the kids to the shops in the park - they dont want to be there - everyone wants an ice cream or chips theyre the only stalls that are making any money -theyre organised by those that run the bootfair - cant go onto the grass around the boot fair - the kids and dogs want out to play in the park - its just old folk and tired dead end middle agers wandering around thinking they can exploit each other dragging their kids/grankids int othe consumerist mess - oh yeah we're recycling but why was it bought in the first place - cos the one eyed god in the corner of the room told em to - has it changed? not really look at all those twats on bargain hunt etc or folk scouring charity shops trying to make a buck on e-bay - the same junk just goes round in circles -
Funny how 15 years later I love Orbital and this is like a looking glass into my childhood. Just a shame raves don't happen anymore. Although, now the laws are being changed it may be possible to hold one again...
I love this Tune. Very funny video showing the "car boot sale" craze that was hooj in the early 90s - especially in the south of England. I never really understood the appeal of looking at other people's unwanted cr@p, let alone buying it!
I'd love to hear the story of why they decided to use this as the video. I suspect it was something like this Phil: "Fuck! someone from the record company's coming round for the video, what are we going to do?" Paul: "Fucking hell.... ok let's give them dad's video from that car boot sale in Sevenoaks" Phil: "Really? Seems a bit random" Paul: "It's punk man, go with it. You want some of this?" Phil: "Yeah thanks man"
Car boots were pretty big in the 90's used to go to donington on a day after / comedown to browse and buy car stereo stuff. You used to see a lot of ravers at car boots, I bought xmix vcr... happy days 🙂
Best music video ever. Loved it for over 20 years now.
For me, is one of the best of the history!
My favorite motorway tune for driving..just fabulous
Took me 27 years of having this track on my playlist to stumble on the video. I'm ok if it's another 27 years before next time.
I remember leaving raves at 6 on a Sunday morning, and seeing everyone out at the boot sale! You get your kicks where you can.
Orbital global music forever ever ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Genius
Class song
🇷🇸❤️🎶👋
As long as it is not raining, everything is ripe for carboot sales and tailgate parties
The single was in the chart this week 30 years ago
fiko!!!!
If you were to look for the greatest disparity between quality of the song and quality of the video then this might win.
Does anyone know of wicht flea market the footage is from?
Does anyone know the location of this place?
