As a child you knew bees were to be feared. As an adult I have come to appreciate how important they are to our survival. Now when I see them going about their business I stop and watch them in amazement.
Same. I even stop my lawn mower to keep from running over them(for the most part). 😅
I shared video
I do the exact same thing
Exactly what just happened to me. I'm sad it took 35 years...
Today, I woke up to finding a teeny tiny swarm. No chance of survival. Wild bees! Terribly gentle. Held them in my hands today completely bare handed. Truly incredible. What a remarkable feeling. And the honey. THE HONEY. WHEEEEEW. The local guy allowed me to taste the honey for the bees. What a delight. With watchful eyes and careful placements, they got popped in my temporary box wayyyy before my hive has even arrived! No suit either! They will become territorial hopefully soon! Truly. I would love to see them protect the hive, and thrive as the way they should. Maybe in a year or Two I'll be able to collect. Was the most amazing high off life feeling, I'm giving these crucial creatures a chance at life. Please consider taking up bee keeping if you are a animal lover and are compassionate and can btw, afford the hobby or have the time and skills to craft oneself a hive. Happy keeping yall, and let's save these bees.
With being stuck at home I’m considering trying a lot of things. Bees are interesting and helpful for gardens. I’d like to garden this spring and get introduced to homesteading on a small scale.
same
I just happened to move into a house with a hive in the wall. I had been considering getting bees but when my wall hive sent out a swarm I decided real fast to catch them.
So here I am.
same, and with the food supply chain in its state i’d like some stuff to fall back on
Get bees from a apiary it will save you alot of pain and trouble

My mom is a beekeeper and loves her bees very much. I’m starting homesteading and want to follow in my moms footsteps and start beekeeping as well. Bees are truly amazing and such a blessing! So good for the environment too.
My doctor has been talking about bees ever since I mentioned being a beekeeper... I texted him to tune in and I'll drop off a card tomorrow.. this should be his year.. NO ONE teaches better than you.. clear, simple and understandable.. and generally under 20 minutes. Nice job.
This has a million and one uses for me, everything from giving honey back to bees, but also helping improve the environment around us
Thanks for explaining things so someone who has never done this before (like me) can understand.
Just decided to get into beekeeping in the past month and getting ready to purchase my bees by Friday. I'm excited, but I have to tell you that your video helped me calm most of my anxieties. I love the way you're explaining everything. PLEASE keep up the good work!
janice Janice0432 how is it going so far? i’d love to know as i’m really deciding wether or not i’d want to start a hive
ANYONE will become allergic if you do not get stung at least once a month. If. you have a family, every family member has to be stung once a month. This is extremely important, if you don't you can die very very easily. Your children and wife are even greater risk. 1 in 100 people are allergic, but 1 in 10 beekeepers families are allergic....
Janice how is your effort coming along? Did you get your first batch of honey yet? :)
@@George-nx5lo you're more likely to develop an allergy the more times you're stung
Should I start in Spring..Fall..when?
I am 68 years old work full-time I didn’t work when I get home but I have been infatuated by the bee videos that I have been watching and I was thinking that it may be something that I would enjoy doing not necessarily just for the selling of honey, but for the Enjoyment of keeping bees.
I was looking forward to watching this, he's all over the place.
I agree I'm so frustrated because I'm not ready to understand receiving bees, I dont even understand how their house works yet 😒 but its it's the first thing anyone goes over.
I mean no rhyme or reason, I started dosing off 5 mins in as he is all over the place.
Ya. He keeps saying, “It just depends what you want”. Well, I’m a beginner. I don’t know what I want. Explain the differences.
Oh STFU, you are a bunch of whiners, good info for free and you asses can only complain!
@@jay90374 Well, when u advertise a video for beginner beekeeping it makes sense to go over the very basics, as if a person has absolutely no idea what they're doing. If you want someone to like and subscribe, that's a benefit to you also, the content creator. After all, this isn't the only beekeeping channel on YT.
Fascinating even though bees terrify me
I used to pet bees as a kid. Freaked the other kids out
Bees will leave you alone what you're afraid of are wasps
With a suit you’ll be good
They don’t wanna mess with you. Imagine the damage you can do to them being many many many times their size. They’re horrified of you, you’re a predator. So a sting is just a last resort.
@@Dancingpumpkinman never heard of a hot hive?
I am new to beekeeping. I have always wanted bees. I found my first swarm when I almost walked into them on May 6 2020. They were at eye level literally inches from my face I was looking down, looked up and there they were. I contacted a friend that lived 26 miles away and ask him what can I do to catch them. He instructed me to catch them in a box and then come to his house and get a hive. I have my first hive and I have contacted a local beekeeper that is helping me to get started. He inspected my hive with me June 2nd and told me I have a very good Queen, she has filled one rack with sealed bees. She has started the second rack and the hive is growing. I have a 10 rack brood hive with only 7 racks. That is all he could let me have to get started. For now that is all I want. I do want them to make the winter, so I am not going to pressure them. I watched your video for information to make sure I was not being told the wrong information. Thank you for the video, I am being steered in the right direction.
Please can you send me your whatapp number because i want to cultivate honey. Please can you give me some advice PLEASE❤❤
Dude your friend is a true brother beehives are rather expensive lmao
You are a very good teacher. I look forward to watching all of your videos to learn more about beekeeping.
My great grandpa was a bee keeper and I’m gonna start this spring . Thanks for all your information.
You’re helping me so I’m sharing your videos with Facebook and friends and family.
This introduction was informative, and helpful. I've shared, and anticipate an interesting beginning with my pollinators. Just joined an ag center group. Excited 😃Thanks
I subscribed. I have been praying about being a bee keeper. But feel like there is so much to learn about this little guys.
I recently decided to add beekeeping to my backyard farming endeavors. These videos are very helpful to me, of course they don't take the place of direct support from the local beekeepers association, but they are a good starting point.
I "Liked", "Subscribed" and "Shared" but most importantly I enjoyed the video. Thank you so much.
I am starting my first hive in a few days and stumbled across this companies products and videos. I am finding them helpful for my first adventure.
Afraid of bees and I love honey. This is a good way to tackle both issues.
My church has a garden to grow organic produce for local soup kitchen. The director wanted me to start hives for pollination and increased yield. We will be setting up hives this winter to start in the spring. I will be sharing your video with the volunteer who will be helping me with the project. I believe the more each of us know about beekeeping the more successful we will be.
It's a wonderful idea. May god bless you abundantly
thank you for the video!
everything was extremely helpful. so thank you for taking time making it.
im 17 and once i move out on my own, i really want to start my own small beekeeping setup.
i really want to take good care of my bees. i want them to live in the best environment possible. aah this is giving me so much motivation. thank you.
Thank you so much. Our neighbor hired someone to spray Roundup by his house. The person he hired promised us he wouldn't spray by our bee hive. Then he does. We have kept and loved that hive for 2 years! And now our bees may all die. They sprayed on our favorite morning glory vine. Now if the bees walk on it, they die, and they love it as much as we do. We have to keep teaching people that Roundup is not at all the way to go.
Liked the videos you do simple not to over complicated! Shared with other friends who are also interested in beekeeping!
Thanks for explaining this, I am trying to learn as much as possible . A bit late for the drawing though. I have a feeling this is going to be quite a bit more involved than I thought. Super informative for those of us newbees.
Love to keep these little treasures thriving and honey from home awesome!!!
Im a veteran as well and I hear working with bees is very calming. Im looking forward to that part!
My husband has a carpentry business so we’ve been looking into beekeeping as a way to get affordable beeswax for wood product care. I found this video to be very informative and We have shared this video with our friends who are interested in beekeeping as well!
Thank you, I'm just starting out. I'm excited. This video answered some questions I had about frame set up, packaged bees and releasing them into the hive. I look forward to watching and sharing your videos.
I have always had an interest in becoming a bee keeper. Your video has edged me closer to realising my dream.
I need to do this. I have been talking about it with my wife for years. I have friends in Maryland who now have hundreds of hives and started a business. I just love bees, the hobby of it and if I made a few ounces of honey...AWESOME. Great video.
A week ago my Stepfather passed.. we are planting 3 acres of wildflowers with his/and his mom’s ashes as a memorial… I tinker with gardening and last year I hardly saw any bee (except the big boy carpenters).. I signed myself and mother up for beekeeping classes in June .. I want to Memorialize my Stepfather for my Mother and help the local farms
All the bee vids around are good, this one is the best -- really appreciate this video

I'll be doing this in the near future thanks for the explanation of how to start bee keeping
Looked this up because I have a honeybee friend that keeps coming to my garage and checking out my seedlings!!
I totally just gave you 5 stars because this is the 1st video that I've seen and it's way more informative and way better than all of these other new beekeeper videos that I have found

This is extremely important, if you don't you can die very very easily. Your children and wife are even greater risk. 1 in 100 people are allergic, but 1 in 10 beekeepers families are allergic....
Thank you for this video. Since we have had three swarms stop in our yard this year I am seriously thinking about taking up beekeeping. This info is great!
Bee keeping can be a great family hobby. Not only is it good for the family time together but it also exposes the younger generations to bee keeping. Then hopefully they in turn raise bees with their family's.
Thanks Fellas, my grand parents raised bees for years in CO, but I never had the chance to learn the craft. Now I'm starting to follow their lead late but working it all the same. Your reminding me of the things I've heard and forgotten.
I want to get started in this hobby. Reading up, researching...
very good information. I can't wait to try my hand at bee keeping this coming year
Thank you Barnyard Bees! My 14 year old son and I learning how to get started beekeeping and this video was very informational! Thank you for sharing!

I just hope I can find a woman who is understanding of my weird hobby LOL
Women usually get it. Guys seem a bit confused about it sometimes
Not a weird hobby whatsoever! I think its a beautiful hobby and feel like it takes a caring and gentle soul!
@AntonioKowatsch Even if she doesn't initially understand it...she will grow to love it. If not, she'll accept your "weird" hobby. I can't wait to try it out this year (2019), and I'm a female.
How is bee keeping weird dude its a great hobby or business infact its a great effort towards nature itself woman who thinks its weird i think are just plain dumb
No man, collecting other people’s wigs is a weird hobby, bee keeping is a good hobby.
Interesting and practical hobby.

I want to learn about bees and I would like to start my own hive. TY for the excellent information
I'm subscribed and liked. I've been learning from your videos for over a year. Your information is straight forward and spot on. For those of us who do not have a mentor, your videos are priceless!
Thank you for the many informative videos. We live in middle Georgia and have begun a homestead with our children. Started with 5 colonies last spring, lost one during winter time, and caught 2 swarms already this year. We are still learning much, and thank you for much guidance through video.
Great video as always, and a store that has everything a beekeeper needs and then some. Your price for the Nicot kit with the book is a great price. No other retailer that I know sells that kit with the book included. I hope I win Nicot kit prize. keep up the good work Dave.
I hope you win too, cuz I know I'll never win.
I enjoyed your video, I’m just getting started. I would like to win a nicot kit in the future. Thanks for sharing, oh I tweeted your video out.

Have you ever taken a look at some of the lectures given by the National Honey Show? I think they are out of London. Very informative. Good fortune with your new career.

Hi Dave, I'm new to the hobbie hope to BEE the lucky winner! thanks.
Done, liked and shared I am a new upcoming beekeeper
What’s it looking like these days? Can you post a vid?
Very good information for the newBEE! Simple explanations in layman's terms.
Wow man really good job! I watched a lot of other videos and read lots of what people believe is the right way to beekeep, but you taught me all i need to know in 20 mins. Thx a lot for the vid!
Awesome video! I'm looking into getting into the bee keeping hobby. I want to see the bees thrive, without them, we are pretty much screwed lol my wife is allergic to bees. When out and about I handle bees if they are close enough for me to catch. I kmow I'm almost a year to late for this giveaway. Hope to get a starter kit of some sort. A 8 would suffice I believe and eventually move up to a 10, who knows lol thanx again!
I work in a Texas prison and I'm going to start raising bees there for the honey and to help our crops so any info would be appreciated. And I subscribed and liked this video. Thx

Do I need the York peppermint patties to start beekeeping, too? XD
You didn't explain the York peppermint patties! How does a beekeeper use those?
I sent to Google and Facebook. My Son lives in England and I am reying to get him interested also. I live in Memphis, Tn
Swarm bait. LOL.

Pop them in your mouth and chew slowly. MMM
I'm a new bee keeper and am happy to find your videos, thanks
I did everything as requested! Much appreciated help for a new bee keeper. And I will gladly review.
All the likes are ant keepers, I keep ants and bees
It would be great if instead of continuously telling us what "people do" you told us what YOU do and the reasons YOU chose to do so. For someone who is starting your approach is very confusing and scary because at the end one doesn't know which way to go.
Very helpful for people like me just starting bee keeping, many thanks.
