You are the first man that I have seen on UA-cam, collecting items, whether dumpster diving or making the rounds picking up used items on the curb or checking out sales, to actually fit items together in the bed of your truck from the get-go. Usually the UA-cam guys just start tossing things in and worry about getting it all to fit when things start falling off. Good job! Give yourself a gold star!

Thanks for posting the awesome video! I used to scrap for years. They used to call me "Easy Money". People would pay me at times to haul scrap ($15-20 to haul away a fridge or dryer, whatever) and I'd get payed of course by the lb at the yard for it. The more I smashed and destroyed the stuff, the more I could fit in my truck. I owned my own little scrap company for about 4 years. When I had scraping jobs like big cleanups I went to the local homeless shelter and would hire all the guys I needed and pay them $50 pluss buy them lunch and dinner if we worked that late. I had my regulars there I used. On hot days i bought everyone icecream. When I got big enough I hired some of the guys full time and we had stress relief parties. We would take a scrap car out to the middle of nowhere and trash it. Smash it with bats, shoot it, sledge hammers, spray paint it. Found out not to shoot arrows at slanted windshields. I loved scraping. The yard I sold too knew me well and I had a good rep for being honest (unlike a lot of guys who fill hot water tanks with cement or washers with bricks). The company got bought out and closed their doors for 6 months. It was too long for me and I went under. It was my most favorite job I've ever done. I'm disabled now with multiple spinal cord injuries so I can't do that anymore. I sure do miss it. Thanks for reminding me a little of what it was like.

I'd fix it and then go sell it back to the people whose house I got it from. Yep I found out about capacitors the hard way LOL. Plastics, metal, paper, glass etc we then take to the local recycling station. Logical and totally cool. And the rest, like old furniture, metal scrap we take to the bigger town recycling.

What a nice neighbourhood, they seemed really happy to have you around. Who was leaving the yellow tickets on the stuff in the street?

I'm not sure if you know this (because I am new to your videos) but some of that steel you are finding is good stuff. Knife makers and blacksmiths would probably pay a lot more than 5 cents a lb for some of it. I know most suspension springs (leaf and coil) are made from 5160 spring steel, and axles and shafts are usually high carbon steel of some sort.

Do the same here in Australia but I search for old furniture to restore and items that I can sell at the local markets, furniture, kids toys ect.I live remote rural but journey down to the city ever six weeks or so and do the rounds of the council kerbside cleanups.True its amazing what people throw out.I also get the pallets that the windscreens are shipped in from the windscreen repair place and make pallet wood furniture ect.Great to see people up-cycling things that would have just ended up in the landfill.Great video and happy hunting :)

I see your Jedi like packing skills are improving. Used dog crates can sell for $10 to $30 depending on size, condition, and quality of construction. Very well built heavy duty crates can sell even higher than that. I know the one you had here was damaged and unusable, but the plastic tray or liner could probably pull in $5 or so.

The green room is the room in which performers get paid. In the olden days performances got paid a percentage of the box office take. And it was paid out after the show
This applies to musicians, actors, vaudeville performers, clowns and such.

13:39 - Man that takes me back to the mid 1980s when i was younger... my early elementary school (maybe 1st or 2nd grade) had a set of those 'blocks' that we could use during play time. I dont recall actually playing with them much but do recall the bin of them in the room and the old musty smell and worn corners exposing the cardboard fibers. Blast from the past for sure! Thanks for sharing

The people that keep places from falling apart have to keep themselves together. I was born and raised in DeKalb where hes at and would do this regularly; would actually even pull up to that exact weigh station hes at with my little Chevy 710 at the time as a teenager. Seeing this gives me a lot of hope, thanks man.
