Vincent van Gogh painted The Starry Night one year before dying.
Chopin composed his popular Nocturne when he was about twenty.
it does not matter if you think that it is too late for you or that you still have a lot of time...you have to decide whether you are Chopin or van Gogh.
The idea behind these videos is coming from a research published by the Psychology Department of Berkeley University studying the relation between colors, emotions and how external stimuli are impacting decision making.
The study results demonstrate a strong correlation between faster music in minor tone and the choice from participants of colors from that were saturated, yellower and lighter whereas a slower and minor music produced the opposite pattern (choice of desaturated, darker and bluer colors).
Based on these findings, we wanted to create synesthesia in our videos and trigger more intense and long-lasting emotions in our viewers, get higher audience retention and interaction. We decided to do that by associating drawings from the major painters that were following the scientific findings of this research.
The choice of these paintings and the consecutive association with the music is also based on an accurate work that requires significant time and energy.
The analysis of the melodies returned to us a lot of information on how the painting should have been made. We needed a simple blue pattern but with an intrinsic meaning. Something that people could watch for a while without really understand it.
By creating this video I tried to do only one thing which turned to be the most difficult one: make you feel an emotional synesthesia.
When hearing the melody, don't you feel that everything is...blue? aren’t you lost in the sky? is your mind going over? It’s not for no reason.
it is not only an image, it is not only a melody. It is a trip.
You don't feel bored. Its your mind using the notes and the colors to create your own experience.
Most of the videos online with only one image are only music, but not this.
The research behind the perfect combination is the key for the unconscious.
The research:
"Music-color associations are mediated by emotion"

Except something didn't seem right. You don't see where your home went, looking back. You hear a voice above and below you. You look both of these directions, only finding a void. You scream into the void, the void screams back. You wake up in the comfort of your own home. It was all just a terrible nightmare. You look outside, all you see is a beautiful landscape. You are refreshed.

Fun fact: For those who are wondering why is Chopin's music connected with Van Gogh's paintings it is because they were both born in the romantic era.
I think there’s a lot more to it than that.

Visited Fredrick Chopin's grave some years ago. Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris, France. An awesome grave with a fairly large monument featuring a bust of the maestro. But, what stood out in my mind more than anything else was the large amount of flowers that were left there by adoring fans. In particular a vase containing 2 dozen of the most beautiful long stem red roses. One can only imagine the effect this man's music has had on the world for people to want to pay tribute to him over 200 years after his death.
This nocturne is a breathtaking masterpiece that enchants listeners with its ethereal beauty and emotional depth. From the delicate opening notes, the piece transports the listener to a realm of serene tranquility, evoking the sensation of moonlit reverie. The haunting melody, adorned with graceful ornamentation, weaves a tapestry of melancholic longing and tender introspection. As the music unfolds, Chopin's exquisite harmonic shifts and expressive phrasing imbue each note with profound emotion, captivating the soul and stirring the imagination. With its subtle nuances and poignant lyricism, it remains an enduring testament to Chopin's genius, casting a spell of timeless allure upon all who encounter its mesmerizing beauty. 🎵🎶🌙🎹
Imagine making music that people would go on to listen to hundreds of years after your death, its fucking sad but that’s astonishing.
reminds me of poor van goch :"(((
It would make Me sad and happy
That's what makes a person immortal; good or bad. It's being remembered!
I'd say it's worse to be forgotten and not honoured or remembered at all. Chopin left a legacy for millions to enjoy. Like many others :)
It's not just that. It's also that those people don't just listen to your work because they have to or because it is some status symbol. Instead, we yearn for the same beauty and elegance in our messy lives that Chopin perfectly depicts in his music. For me personally, Chopin's work helps me get through anything from homework to anxiety attacks. His work just resonates with people in so many different ways... What a legend!

Happy birthday my good friend. Celebrate the years and each day, weeks, month and years to come.
You are able to reflex on all the wonderful years gone by. I am now 72 years old and can appreciate your sentiment. In my youth I remember playing the orchestral interpretation of this Chopin work as though it was yesterday. A more quiet and tranquil era, or was it my youthful innocence? Whichever the case Chopin has always resonated to something within. A master composer who's music tugs the innermost core of my being. Idyllic? Perhaps so. Life is always unfolding if, but we realize that it is. Our years are never wasted nor do we cease to blossom unless we choose to allow such. Each day is a new day complete with many possibilities. No matter where the chimes of time may change it's what's in our hearts that really matters. Happy birthday. Finding joy in the changing stages of our lives is the key to happiness with no regrets. Chopin will live for ever and ever
One crisp evening in Paris, Frédéric Chopin found himself at a lavish masquerade ball. Known for his elegance, Chopin wore a simple black mask that barely concealed his identity. As the night wore on, guests began to whisper about the mysterious pianist playing captivating melodies from behind a grand piano.
Intrigued, Chopin decided to join in the fun. He approached the piano, and with a flourish, began to play a playful, spirited polka. The crowd gasped, recognizing the brilliance in his touch. But Chopin added a twist-he exaggerated every note, playing with unexpected pauses and dramatic gestures, making the polka comically grandiose.
Guests laughed and clapped along, caught up in the infectious joy of his performance. As he finished with a final, exaggerated flourish, Chopin stood and bowed deeply, his mask slipping just enough for everyone to realize who he was. The room erupted in applause and laughter, the night now marked by the unforgettable, humorous performance of the great Chopin.
