  • This video is to show how Traditional Hung Gar Skills are sometimes drilled. This is NOT fighting however. I posted this to give some insight as to how the bridging skills can be learned.
I'm Onassis Parungao, I was the 1st (Filipino) Hung Kyun fighter in the UFC...# 7. I also fought in the Russian AFC and have won 2 Chinese San Shou belts at 85kg.
I've traveled to Shaolin Temple and had the pleasure of being instructed in San Da. I scored the highest in my class group.
If there's one thing I really know how to do, it's to apply traditional kung fu concepts in a more realistic fight setting.
Applying kung fu, especially Hung Style & Taiji in a more modern setting is something that I get paid to teach. If you would like to learn properly, please honor me with a seminar at your school and I will do my best to share my knowledge. Thanks, "O"

low key asmr with the hand contact sounds. you can also tell how conditioned sifu's hands are and how accurate he is with where, and what part of his hand he is deflecting/grabbing with (ie. mostly palm, palm and fingers, edges of hand/palm, wrist and outside edge of hand...). there is alot of different points of contact just for the hands. also, the sound of the contact sounds like ping pong balls since his hand muscles are actually tensed and not soft (as well as the acoustics of the place they train in); strong hands being a staple for this style indeed. i like paying attention to these details for martial arts as you can discover deepers aspects to them.

Cool! I know nothing about hung gar, but this video makes me want to learn more. Those drills are excellent, and your instruction and explanations are superb.

Good training! I like how most modern martial artists wouldn't know what the hell you're doing even after being repeatedly tagged

I studied hung gar and boxing,
there is similar techniques among them so
basically hung gar can fight and fight quite well
since its is a powerful style emphasizing powerful strikes

One of the hereditary masters from the Lam family also practices boxing in addition to hung gar

1st, Hung Gar is not based on what you said. 2nd this vid is an explanation of a training drill and that's all...not fighting.
If you're suggesting that I should demonstrate this art in MMA or the ring as a professional...then i'll tell you, "been there done that." More importantly is my choice to CONTINUE doing this style and Taiji...after having done those things. Tada...another miracle.

Very good Chinese favor. Most foreigner practice Chinese Kung Fu or speak Chinese with an accent.

Aloha Sifu let me know when your interested in coming out to Hawaii. We’ll plan it out and I’ll get together my students so it’s worth your time.
I can either pay your round trip and hotel or if you fly out here I can get some students together and pay a flat rate fee per person for a seminar..
Hoping to do a 3+ hour seminar and Hung Kuen and Tai chi application

Kenpo and Hung gar and Wing Chun are sister arts. As a Kenpo practitioner we can learn much from other styles.

Thanks Noah but i did use those exact tiger claw hands to set up a take down in my ufc 7 match. I dont care if it was ugly or pretty but it worked.
I get why you think that however...just from watching a traditional video.
