    for the situation of mom's blaming their daughters for fathers being abusive: you'd be surprised how common it is for moms to do this. it was certainly the case for my mom, my grandmother blamed my mom for her abuse at the hands of my grandfather.

    • @FZJanimated
      @FZJanimated 3 роки тому +103

      abuse run in the family.
      is common that the parents abuse their children because they also were abused when they were kids.
      you see them alot in 3rd world countries too.

    • @chamllis

      It’s the same reason way most parents love their spouse far more then their children and abusers see it as I chose my wife/husband and the kid showed up.
      It’s really fucked but you see it a lot especially if a kid says something bad to his mom the dad will not hesitate to threaten the kid as if he isn’t his damn son.

    About the fact that stuff like the story in Metamorphosis happening in real life, I was talking about hentai and doujin with a lady friend who never heard of it.
    She went to read it while on discord together and I was just farming in a MMO, waiting for her reaction.
    And then she starts talking, I feel that something isn't right. She was very cold about it and said that it's good that this kind of story exists because... she actually went through something similar, especially the "drugs and sold around for sex part" and "family makes things worse". She didn't go too far into details and I didn't ask.
    The guy of that time is now in prison and she lives in another country to keep distance from her family.
    I never felt worse about recommending anything to anyone.

    Why METAMORPHOSIS feels more fucked than more extreme doujins:
    -Some level of characterization (Saki wanted approval--> changed herself--> naïve and needs parental guidance--> misguided) That's already way above many typical cutout girls in doujins that's drawn straight for fapping purposes.
    -The fetishes were portrayed more realistically:
    --> The effects of drugs were more gradual than the magic aphrodisiac in hentai. You see the process and reasons of Hayato and it becomes more personal than just fetish material.
    -Her promiscuity has social ramifications.
    --> She lost friends because of the rumors. Some even earlier because they got jealous of her looks but now they finally found dirt on her.
    --> The delinquents took advantage by blackmailing. The gangbang isn't just erotica anymore. It's a show that she's been outed by the top of the school's hierarchy.
    --> As you know in Japan, shit can get toxic and that's being pointed out. Even if some people wanted to help, they don't want to get under fire so they just look away when Saki saw her table drawn with graffiti.
    --> Her father sees her mother's younger self through her--> Abuses her--> mother exiles her. A case of parental abuse and familial hierarchy (the father does no wrong, which is still prevalent in the majority of SEA)
    --> By the end, she wanders the streets as a beggar which isn't good in a society like Japan.
    -The subject matter
    --> We've all seen someone lose themselves to drugs or poverty, so the topic already knocks more on reality than any wacky tags you can think of. Even though prostitution is a common fantasy in porn, this doujin really emphasizes on the psychological side that even if you try to distort your brain to get horny by the imagery (evident by post-nut clarity memes) the self-loathing and insecurities of Saki overwhelms you because it's easy to imagine falling in her place. I get reminded that I was lucky enough that I didn't take drugs or have people that cares in whatever I do and if I'm fucking it all up. Not everyone has that and that's what I get out of this doujin instead of all the fetish material.
    Additionally:
    - ShindoL isn't exactly the brightest person (so I don't think he's that deep) and just like Connor pointed out, Metamorphosis is not the most realistic or that there are other media that do the topic better. It's the fact that it's a doujin. Documentaries about prostitutes won't show the on-goings of that industry but pornographic comics can. And the fact that it's pornographic material is what messes with your brain. Doujins are drawn for fapping purposes so when ShindoL flipped that script, that doesn't stop the drawing from being sexually attractive.
    He basically makes the reader an active part of the story unlike watching a documentary or movie where you can get sad sure, but at the end of the day you remain an outsider simply looking in. In Metamorphosis, you have the option to fap and even though (objectively) Saki isn't real, it feels wrong and gut-wrenching as if you've partaken in the dark side of society yourself.

      Essentially its just realism that fucks with us.
      Like tbh I don’t normally mind rape/ non-consensual scenarios in porn even the more brutal shit like in kuroinu, however I prefer it when this theme is treated more like an Inconvenience and less like what actual real world rape is like i.e a terrifying experience that completely ruins your mind, body, life and spirit, sometimes permanently. The further they lean into the reality of the situation, the more unfun shit gets.
      Its like what connor said about scat but if it showed the 10 min cleanup aftermath
      Granted, shedding light on the reality can actually work in both negative and positives.
      One of my favorite doujins that i wish they brought up here’s hook was that this gurl essentially bribed someone she liked and was friends with to go to school with sex. Dude was basically a failure shutin teen who was on the verge of dropping out. So she’d be like “if you go to school tomorrow, i’ll sleep with you” “if you can get a grade higher than X , i’ll sleep with you etc” and essentially the dude slowly starts cleaning himself up, becomes happier and more sociable and learns to enjoy life
      Essentially i’m spoilin the ending rotten but HS obviously comes to an end eventually and the dude has a straight up breakdown about the genuine reality of the situation. It wasn’t really just the sex but the girl herself encouraging him and being their for him that helped show him that life was worth living. He didn’t want those good times to end, he just wanted her now, not even really the sex.
      Like--
      God the way the artist drew this dude genuinely crying was so powerful that its unironically stuck with me ever since. Like they even took the time to write in him slurring his words cause he literally couldn’t even think or put into words how much she meant to him
      The story was so sweet and i feel like it was a great example of using the reality of the situation to push the story forward

    The adult manwha idea does actually seem like it'd sort of meet one of the criteria Connor had before for the doujin when it's been brought up. He could probably just auto-scroll the longstrip stuff instead of having to turn pages all the time. I've done this before when I was feeling particularly lazy with the regular series like Tower of God or what have you. Just set a scroll going on its own with your mouse wheel that can match the reading pace well enough, maybe a smidge slower than you might think you need in case you suddenly get some more reading than usual in a particular part. It's not terribly difficult to "pause" or "rewind" if necessary either.

    The thing that fucks me up about Metamorphosis is that, unlike a lot of the more vile doujins out there, it has its root in some pretty harsh, real shit. It fucked me up because all of that stuff has probably happened to countless girls in real life if not exactly the way it goes for Saki or necessarily to that degree. Which is one of Shindo L's goals. The fact that it's mired so deeply in real life problems like drug addiction and manipulation and objectification of girls that are then discarded and shunned once used makes it harder for me to go "well, at least that couldn't happen irl" which some of the more twisted shit you can rationalize away with. And the fact that something like that can happen to someone is so utterly horrific that even though it's not a 9 on the doujin richter scale of fucked, it's way harder to shake off afterward.
    But I'm also not going out of my way to read that shit on a regular basis, so what do I know.

      my friend had been through two suicide attempts by the time i met her aged 19 and had a severe eating disorder because since early childhood her food intake was the only thing about her body she felt she had any control and a say over in her life.
      Edit: And I just remembered not really another friend but more a classmate who had been abused by her step dad at age 15 and when she went to her mom, her mom just before anything else got jealous and blamed her too and basically it ended with her mom telling child protective services that she cannot handle her daughter and it was disrupting her marriage and applied for her daughter to be taken into a supervised live-in hostel for teenagers. Yeah with the mom blaming the kid in metamorphasis this can happen a lot actually. When a person or whoever is being abused by their partner is being overwhelmed they can go into into a form of extreme coping or survival. Being abused so heavily they will blame their kid for why they themselves are being abused and lash out. So the dad was probably incredibly abusive to both the kid and mom. So for the mom to cope and survive blamed it on the kid in fear of confronting the father/abuser. She could very easily convince herself that there is no abuse to protect her from confronting the problem.

She was a girl who was kidnapped by some disgusting boys, then raped and tortured for more than a month before finally being killed (it was even by accident, otherwise who knows how much longer they would have kept doing it), and the mother of one of the culprits blamed her for seducing her son and turning him into a monster. She even desecrated Junto's grave at one point
      Those sickos even essentially got away with it because they were minors (they were around 16-17), apart from one who was sentenced to 20 years in jail. The others got less than 10 years each

      Pretty much. And what's worst than victim blaming is victim abandonment (though you could argue it's better since you would be cut off from the abuse) in which, usually the mother would even throw out her own biological child to appease her (usually, not first) husband/boyfriend.
      In a sense it makes sense from the viewpoint of the mother that she felt she needed the protection of a male guardian so much that she's willing to do anything to retain that male guardian.
      But it is still fuck up.

It made me wish that I could do something for a fictional character.
    At the very least, seeing the Jojo ending, and all the love she got on reddit and fanarts made me feel a little bit better. • @ashen0306
      @ashen0306 3 роки тому +28

      It's unrealistic for its execution not for the general events that happened imo. Like it felt like the creator was just cramming the worst possible scenarios he could think of in one storyline, with no regard for how well they mash together.

    • @ineskracun6572
      @ineskracun6572 3 роки тому +35

      @@ashen0306 so it is unrealistic because it is crammed in small amount of time.
      Typically, a sex trafficking victim would have between five to fifteen customers a DAY, without counting a person pimping them out having their turn as well...
      Their first pimp is usually either their childhood abuser, or boyfriend. And they are never their only pimps as victims tend to be sold two or three times. And the way of beating them into submission is through drug use and gang bangs.
      Most of the girls between 12 and 15, and do not survive their teenager years.
      So... no, unfortunately it is not as unrealistic as it looks.
