Pippen is the player every coach and every teammate like to have in their team.
Made me realize how brilliant a player Rodman was. Intelligent, crafty and cerebral - one of the great rebounders of all time.
That was the most difficult Bulls sweep. The Bullets played like the 2005 - 2007 Postseason Bulls: Overwhelmed in talent on paper...but tenacious and never say die.
That Bullets squad would've been a #3 or #4 seed in today's Eastern Conference.
pippen had a very athletic and durable physique, he put his body on the line on many occasions
In the 6 title years, these Bullets were the only first-round opponent that put up a fight.
Rod Strickland, Tracy Murry, Juan Howard, Chris Webber! Come on man! They had a damn team!
Always remember being 14 watching this game when Scottie got that dunk at the end.
Scottie and Mike made sure to send the Bullets out in a way they’d never forget
The 90s bullets are so underrated
Pip the best defensive player in the history of the NBA
I'm a Jordan fan and I think Pippen was amazing. I don't see how the two are mutually exclusive.
Yeah bro the toughest sweep I've ever seen. They definitely made the Bulls work for all three of those games.Very proud of this Bullets squad.
The Bullets Head Coach had his team in an "upset mindset." Against most of the other elite NBA team back then....Washington would have won the series.
I love Hubie Brown as a commentator! Great teacher, Great basketball mind, appreciates good play, fair in his analysis, doesn't matter what team or what player, and a Great fan of the game
Great game. I loved the Bullets team back then. It's a shame that team broke up because they had the talent to be a special team had they stayed together. They gave the Bulls one hell of a run and despite the sweep every game was hard fought.
You might have been balling before. But when Pippen plays defense on you especially the 3rd and 4th quarter, you are on lock down.
6:20 Pip makes the three and gets murdered. Gets up shakes his head and runs off to play D. In today's lake a bump on the wrist after the shot is a foul. My times have changed.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Pippen shot close to or OVER 50% for all of those great Chicago teams AND he also had a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio as the point forward. Scottie Pippen was a FANTASTIC offensive player. Educate yourself.
4:50 mark pip draws the offensive fould on Howard, imo pippen was the greatest player ever to draw offensive fouls on the open court, without flopping either
the bullets had a solid squad that year. they really fucked up. had webber, howard, ben wallace (had rasheed the year before)...a really solid young squad...first one in years. once they traded away webber, the shit hit the fan. took years to recover from that.
If you remember there was a big news story about a house party at C Webb's house that went wrong and that was justification for getting him out if town. The reality is they didn't want to pay both Howard and Webber and it was easier to trade Webber.
i believe this is the last time washington played under the bullets name, no?
It's not a surprise when NBA player does an extraordinary stuff they call it "jordanesque " man clutch shot after clutch shot they man litteraly refused to loose
Pippen could do anything LeBron could do he just didn't score as much cause he played with the GOAT.
@@spitshinetommy3721 He is NOT a much better player. Pippen did do what LeBron did. Don't undermine that man's skills. And when MJ left he was Lebron in 94. James is able to bully today's players into scoring easy buckets while Pippen was a better defender.
I can still remember vividly Pippen's dunk... after 21 yrs!!!
No doubt Pippen was the best all around player I have seen!!!
@@afridgetoofar1818his comment is like 11 years old tho folks in his defense respectfully
@@r.i.c5008 What’s being 11 years old have to do with it? I could name ten players from Pippen’s era that were better overall players
Look how the Bulls play it's like art.
This was my first basketball memory. Scottie with that awkward fall after the baseline dunk.
You can also see what makes MJ the greatest ever. 5 games scoring over 55pts. No other player in his era, or the era before has ever done that. Not even Wilt. This is what makes MJ the greatest. He was able to dominate not only in the regular season,...but also in the playoffs. He dominated in this way with and without Scottie.
Good job guys , Scottie was a greatest all around Basketball of all time player
It's ridiculous how clear Pippen's path was to the basket (before the obvious contact of course). It seemed like no one on Washington knew where the ball was after the block on MJ.
yes pipen was an incredable player, but no one can deny that jordan was extremely good in every aspect of the game, passing, defending, stealing, shooting and making everything possible to win a game
There are so many great teams in the NBA who never had a chance to win the championship because of Jordan and the Bulls!!!
You know the Bulls could have drafted Michael Findley in 1996 but damn Krause was so in love with power forwards he selected Jason Caffey. Could you imagine that? Jordan,Findley,Pippen Rodman, Longley? Haha that would have been sick.
And Krause ended up trading Caffey which almost bit the Bulls in the butt against the Pacers in the 1998 Postseason.
I was at this game... it was one of the best playoff atmospheres I've ever been a part of, even though we lost. DC is a basketball town, the pro team just isn't good.
What? Pippen shot 52% in the 1991 season and 50% in the 1992 season. WITHOUT Jordan even being there he shot 49.1% in 1994.
This is a classic one. Worth waiting. Please come up more.
Happy birthday, MJ. I was at this game.
Dude, you can't truly be a Michael Jordan fan if you ain't got mad love and appreciation for Pippen's game.
i remember this series like yesterday. the bullets put up a great fight. on paper it didn't look like it, losing 0-4, but they were in every game. if we had kept Juwan and Webber together...
How do you remember it like yesterday but don’t remember it being a 5 Game series? Lol
That's very true....I think one point after this series that MJ said that that Bullets (later Washington Wizards, cough, cough) said that this was a team of the future.
Bullets team had so much potential.Weber,Howard,Strickland
Bring back the bullets name.wizards,a name for a 12year olds team.
3:57 What a pass!
im still laughing at rodman and muresan :D love it
It would be tight if this bullets team was on NBA 2k.
I love the bulls, but you gotta respect the BUllet Fans for being so enthuistic... even when ur team is going up against legends
Remember tracy murray going crazy on this one....but as it is always, jordan/pip somehow lead bulls on top by the end. Classic.
look at big murhaesean (spell check) fightin back at rodman lol
Such joy to watch Scottie's multiple skills!
...The beginning of "Scottie Back"..............
more bulls video! thanks i love it.
Watching this game I can't help but think of the Lakers getting blown out early by the Rockets in Game 4 and 6 and never being able to recover. The huge difference between the Bulls and Lakers is DEFENSE. When the Bulls got down they could lock in and put the clamps on teams defensively. The Lakers just haven't shown that yet. They have firepower on offense but not defensively which is inexcusable considering their length and athleticism.
I wish someone would at least tried to lessen Pip's fall cause that made me cringe
I strongly believe that fall (along with the numerous times he fell violently on his back) eventually led to Pippen playing with a bad back in Game 6 of the 1998 Finals.
Tough Bullets team
If Mike is #1 GOATS, then Scottie is 1A.
MJ GREATEST OF ALL TIME ⏲️ 🏀 🎈 🙌 👏 💯
MJ is the best player...but Pip is the diamond player in the NBA
i'm not a hater but the bullets should have been a powerhouse. first they dumped scott skiles and traded a pick for mark price who played 7 games and bolted. that pick turned into vitaly potapenko who was drafted 12th before kobe, nash, peja, and j. o'neal. then they traded sheed after one season for rod strickland. when they lost mclivane and picked up ben wallace they would have had the best frontcourt(webb, juwan, sheed, ben, mcheshuran) plus kobe or nash or peja.......wes unseld why???????
This was one DC's Best Squads EVER!!! Webber, Strickland, Wallace, Howard...Why did they break this team up???
the last time i was a bulls fan..
is funny how rodman trying to stop muresan hahaah today that would have been double technicall and maybe expulsion
Bring back the bullets!!!
Still Washington Bullets for me evwn though they are the Wizards now.
Bulls were lucky to win this game....if they lost game 3...game 4 would have been tough as hell...the crowd here was like the Utah crowd.
Wow, never seen Phil come off the bench like that - 7:30
Pooer Webber. He either had to deal with Scottie or Dennis guarding him.
The old guys schooling the younguns
The Bullets were from D.C. and they're known today as the Wizards.
pippen took one for the team on that attempted dunk shot for sure.....could have been a bad injury......but curious as to why the ticker tape was falling in a loss for the bullets at home?
Mj so good
scottie, if only you had that same mind-set in game 7 of the 2000 WCF. Portland would have iced that series and won the chip as well.
He was washed up by 2000 Nikolai. The blame is more on rasheed Wallace in my view for that epic 2000 choke.
@sopa71479 when you have pippen and rodman on you with two legit 7 footers behind them in longley and wennington. how do you not foul out especially at his young age? he was out of control until he got to sacramento. he meshed with the craziest dudes: sprewell, rasheed.
Man, I loved that Bullets team. then the next year Wes Unseld messes it all. Even Jordan after that series said the Bullets were going to be a great team in a couple years. Then Unseld blows it
weird camera angle great game nonetheless
Jordan's wearing the infamous flu game 12. Bullets is better than wizards.
There should be more Muresan footage
I don't see how you got so many thumbs up because...I'm pretty sure all the "michael jordan fans" appreciate what Pip did. He's almost becoming overrated with people glorifying him like you just did. You gotta remember...as much as Pip was responsible for Jordan's 6 rings, Michael was even more responsible for Pippen's eventual greatness as a ball player. I'm pretty sure most agree that Pip would not have become as good without MJ by his side.
@uberathlete Chris Weber fouled out in every game of this series
haha craig sager wearing normal suits...what the fuck??????
no need for reasoning....
Michael Air Jordan in the g.o.a.t
we have already witnessED - sry lebron
this very odd camera angle..memories
Is Jordan actually getting booed? When the hell does that ever happen?
@jnqidowu1
You know, those ridiculous expressions...
basketball just looked better in '97. today's nba players just don't know how to play team basketball.
@mazaratialbum Pip was good but his scoring efficiency was horrible. He needed Jordan. Pip never shot close to 50% his entire career. He was not a great offensive player by any stretch. He had good moments, but he needed a better player.
Pip shot over 50% the entire 90-91 and 91-92 seasons. But don't let facts confuse you "The one".
@@iamtman1 yeah and 49% the year without MJ but we have to assume this guy is young and don't know!
at 0:49 is why I'm glad Chris Webber never won anything. He was always just a classless thug from the very beginning.
yes pipen was an incredable player, but no one can deny that jordan was extremely good in every aspect of the game, passing, defending, stealing, shooting and making everything possible to win a game.
The announcers used terms such as "he is not to be denied" and "oh my" to describe Jordan's performance in this game. Look at how when the Bulls were down by 9 with about 5 minutes left how Jordan imposed his will on the game. He was so patient and methodical in attacking the Bullets. We will never see a talent like this again.
Edmond Lau completely agree - the desire to win is incomparable
The way is playing he will not let the bulls loose
