After seeing Bolo in Bloodsport I really got into weightlifting/bodybuilding. He wasn’t cut up or ripped but I was in awe of his overall size and especially his massive upper body. IMO he is best martial arts movie villain and also one of the all time best movie villains period. I was terrified for Van Dam before he was about to fight Bolo in Bloodsport. Bolo had the “it” factor as a merciless, indestructible, killer.
I ran into Bolo once while in Hong Kong. He was just walking down the street by himself in Central and I had to stop him to say "Hello" and tell him that I enjoyed him in movies. He was kinda surprised to be stopped like that but he was very polite and spoke with me for a bit. I think he was a little shy because his English wasn't so good (as if I could speak Cantonese!). Too bad this was before there were smart phones because I would have loved to have taken a selfie with Bolo!

In the first two movies I saw with him, he was just a bad guy with a lot of muscles for me. Later I was very fascinated by him. A great actor, a great martial artist, a legend. I admire you Bolo.

One of the most underrated martial artists from back in the day. Too often type cast as villain but could've been the star if they had the right writers then.
But as far as I know they didn't give him a chance to become a lead role in a movie as he ended up only as villain. Anyway it's very fit for him that kind of role and must earn a lot of awards like best supporting actor
