Hello Arlee! I already have a sketch of the puppet drawing, I thought of something very simple in this first moment! I believe I will be able to start this weekend and I will take pictures of the assembly process! Then we can arrange how I can send the images to you. I was very happy to see you manipulating the tools. It is wonderful to know that besides being beautiful (with all due respect) even more with the glasses, you have skills of woodwork! What a wonderful girl! Please continue with your great videos. A big hug from an admirer!
Thanks … I am following all your video Tutorials… I hope I could make one . I think it’s one good thing to do n keep myself busy making my time worthy .
Hello from India! It's Clint from Boulder. This is amazing Arlee, so impressed to see what you're up to! All of my favorite UA-cam channels are builder/maker channels and now you're on my list!
I'll be making my puppet out of polymer clay myself, but I am trying to figure out how to get all the pieces to connect and move, so this all really helps!
Update: It's crazy to think it took A MONTH to get everything I needed (and by that took A MONTH to print out my template for the little guy) BUT I FINALLY GOT IT DONE and today I can start!
@@puppetsbyarlee over 2 days, I'm making a sort of mini practice puppet. I think it's a bit tricky to get exact details because of how small they are, and one of the legs is a bit wonky, but he can sit and stand so far (at least considering he doesn't have anything about his waist yet) A bit surely he's coming along though :)
Thank you! I do have an etsy shop called Puppets by Arlee. I also take commissioned builds. But truly this channel is about teaching people how to get started building and performing marionettes. It's a bit difficult to find marionette resources, so I want the videos on this channel to inspire people to join the art form of string puppetry. If you're on instagram I'd love to see your work just add #puppetsbyarlee on your post, and I can see it!
Hi Arlee, How are you I love your videos. May I ask what sewing machine you use . Could you recommend one that is beginner friendly . It is the clothes making videos I will need to see more of please . So if you could do a video on sewing machine for beginners that will make clothes for the marionette With ease I would really appreciate the help also keep up the great work . Thank you kindest Regards Nick
Hello, amazing is your video. Unfortunately two of your videos is not available. One how to sculpt the marionette head and draw a marionette pattern. It would be nice if these videos are made available.
Hi Arlee, Thank you so much for these videos! How do you attach the torso and pelvis together? I looked through your Marionette Building 101 series and couldn't find this info. Thank you so much for your help!!
Hi Arlee! I don't have access to a bandsaw, if I were to create the torso out of cardboard or foam core would this jeopardize the strength of the entire puppet? If so, is there any way I can further strengthen cardboard/foam core ie give it a coating, paper mache?
Hi I made two an old man and a old lady they were to heavy to handle. I helped getting the string tangle up .o I gave them away. A cow boy and women.looking at your video maybe I could make them lighter
@@puppetsbyarlee thanq.. I wll check other videos.. Can we make whole pupette by using paper mash... Wll b strong enough? As we don't have carpentary tools and materials..
@@mohannaik6433 You can use paper mache' but some methods are stronger than others. Some people use fabric to make the body, legs and arms. Others use plastic bottles for the body etc. and cut them to fit, some bottles are already have a shape that makes a pretty good torso. Just cut and shape to fit. Some people use modern clays. I started 50 years ago with a saw a couple of chisels and a jack knife.

Yes, the video is called "MARIONETTE BUILDING 101: How to Make a Marionette Stomach"

also thank you for these tutorials, they have been extremely helpful!
Sure! Do several layers of paper mache. I like to use water, construction paper and wood glue.
I'm a wood Carver and I do oil paintings
Where can I find sculpting the head video?
