Here it is, the song you all wanted a remake of the most for this year’s May Madness! Beware the Forest’s Mushrooms placed #1 on both the public and Patreon May Madness voting forms, and by a fairly large margin at that.
I was actually pretty surprised to see this one voted so strongly at the top, but with Super Mario RPG being one of my favorite game soundtracks and all, I’ll definitely take it.
Most of this arrangement is based off of my old 2014 remix. The most major change this time around is a different intro, and I raised the key back up to the original.

I've never been more hyped for a Mario game before. A remake is coming
Until the remaster of the game comes out this is where I go if I need a remix of the forest maze.
I'm in love with Yoko Shimomura and this cover is really awesome. The choral part even gave me Metroid vibes if that makes sense.

Could it be because square soft doesn't exist anymore? Probably why geno couldn't make it to smash because all the stuff is from soft and not enix.
@@linkpwnsevery1 They were still able to implement Mallow and Geno's spirits alongside Geno's Mii Gunner costume in SSB4/Ultimate.

@@linkpwnsevery1 Geno costume is in SSBU... Sakurai wanted Geno but he's not the one who decides which characters go into the game. Geno would've been an amazing fighter, I think. Oh well.

Always a delight to see SMRPG making a return. The Medley you did years ago remains one of my favourite covers of this game!
It takes a lot of talent and creativity to take such a short and well-known OST and make it sound so unique in your own style. Not once was this boring or repetitive and every unique style you used complemented the next without being too overpowering. Where you did choose to deviate from the original fits in perfectly as well. Great work!

I only recently got my hands on Super Mario RPG, and I have to say, I REALLY wish I had done it sooner, the game is a gem! Not to mention the soundtrack is wonderful. This is a wonderful cover, I hope to see more of this in the future!

I love the new intro for this remake! You did hint at this song in your Sad Song remix last year so it was only a matter of time you'd come back to Beware the Forest's Mushrooms. I'm glad it sounds a lot like the 2014 one, as I am very fond of the old remix however this one just sounds better of course so good stuff as always!

Played this game back in the 90s and always loved the forest music. Seeing there was a Gametal cover, I was initially like "not sure if this will work as a metal song." I stand corrected.

You know I probably should have guessed that the most iconic song in all of "Super Mario RPG" would be the one you would remake (I figured it could be anything since you did an AMAZING anthem for the game a while back)! After all this IS one of the first themes I think about when I remember the game (well this as well as the title theme, main over-world theme, Something's Amiss event theme, boss theme, Midas River, Booster Tower, Nimbus Land, Barrel Volcano, Bowser's Keep, Smithy Factory, and the credits...wow this game has SO much good music)!

This is really good. Starts slow and gets high energy real fast. The later half is 11/10.
