I think it's amazing how she even switches up her English accents. So in London it's a British-English accent, and in the US it's more of an American accent.
Thanks for the great interview. I love Willemijn!! She is incredible and seems like such a genuine and lovely person. I wish she was staying on Broadway longer and I really really hope she comes to Australia soon!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WILLEMIJN!!! i met her at the stage door and she was soooo nice!! its so cute at the last pic of her u can see some green by her hair line!! in my opinion the best Elphaba ever :)
Thank you so much!!! Such an amazing interview. Love Willemijn. Can not wait to learn what she will do next, too bad she didn´t said but it surely will be awesome.
SHE IS SO AWESOME, I'm one of the biggest 12 year old WICKED! fans in Holland, and I'm collecting money to see her in Londen. Willemijn is my favorite musical artist ever! If everyone would hear her they agree with me. Thanks for the video
You are so lucky, Megan, to go backstage to all of these great things, especially Wicked! I would kill to go backstage & to have the chance to interview the cast haha! Thank you so much for all of your great videos! I've been a long time subscriber & I always love the videos that you post! Thank you so much for another amazing interview! I saw Willemijn on her Broadway debut & she was amazing. I'm seeing her again on her last show & I can't wait!! Thank you again for the amazing videos! ~Ryan
Great interview, thnx 4 sharing! Love Willemijn! She stopped early at West End because she had to undergo back surgery and she is currently recovering from that. On facebook she said everything is going well, so I hope we get to see her on stage soon again, hopefully in The Netherlands too. Maybe in the musical of Frozen, that would be cool!
She is currently rehearsing for her new role. copied from the net (faster then typing :P ): Willemijn will join the cast of ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’ at the Playhouse Theatre which opens on 20 December till 9 May 2015. Willemijn will play the role of Paulina Morales. Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is adapted from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar’s Oscar-nominated 1988 film of the same name. The story revolves around a professional movie dubber who discovers unsavoury secrets about her married lover after he abruptly abandons her.
Great video! :) I just saw Willemijn perform in London on Saturday 21st of June and she blew me away, Defying Gravity & No Good Dead gave me goosebumps! I've been lucky enough to see a few musicals and up to Saturday the Lion King was top of my list but everything about Wicked just topped that & then some. The songs, the set and Willemijn & Savannah as Elphaba & Glinda were flawless. Will be seeing it again soon I'm sure. And Willemijn seems soo nice in the interview :)
I watched this again to see what you mean and I think she is just positioning herself to have a better conversation so she could turn to me more..she was certainly lovely
Wonderful video- she seems lovely and is ridiculously talented! What a great opportunity for you to be able to get an interview backstage on broadway! At the end of the year Laura and I are spending 2 weeks in America (first time overseas- woohoo!!) and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for places to go or things to see in LA, Chicago or NYC (preferably student-budget friendly!)? xx Rachel
12:12 There's a letter from a Dutch fan on the door! How nice :D (for English people: it says good luck) And there's another one in the back, but I can't read it. And this interview is just fantastic, like Willemijn is!
Actually in early 2000 Block read the part of Elphaba in the first reading of the new musical Wicked. After a few months of reading she was replaced by Idina Menzel, a decision that left Block devastated, but accepting of the decision that had been made to cast a more experienced performer in the role.
Before she did Wicked in her hone country Holland. . I didn't knew her.. like a lot of other people. . Then she did Wicked in Holland. . Loved it! She is so good! .. she is a star! .. in Germany, Holland, US and next wil be UK..
Where can u get the German broadcasting music on iTunes the only songs I have from the 5th anniversary cd are Gutes Tun and Solang Ich Dich Hab! Where can u get the whole German cd of wicked with WILLEMIJN on iTunes or any other place?
I tried to find it and I found it on Amazon (but my uncle won't by it for me), and I found out that I can download it online on your computer (my computer is busted) so I'm using my iPod to do everything including UA-cam! So yeah.........
Would they make a new album? I mean, they already have an english cast album with Idina & Co. But if would of course be great if they would give her this opportunity.
She hopes that she will make a new album that's her dream to make a debut album of Wicked from her experience with playing the role of Elphaba in broadway! That what she said in the video tho :)
Any idea what her plans, which she can not say anything about, might be? Is it another musical? I doubt she was talking about her album, couse why shouldn´t she be able to say anything about that?
This is so weird! In her British interviews, she has a British accent but here she doesn't I wonder witch accent is just an act. Still adore her though.
+TheNancyc1 Many dutch people learn english in schools with british tapes! My best friend from the Netherlands has a bit of a british accent in english!
the dressing room you were in is now in the process of being remodeled into more women's restrooms. as a result Elphaba now has the Wizard's old dressing room and they have moved the wizard's dressing room upstairs
I think it's amazing how she even switches up her English accents. So in London it's a British-English accent, and in the US it's more of an American accent.
Willemijn Verkaik is one of my favourite Broadway actresses! I love her so much!
I just love Willemijn so much. It's a shame that I missed her as Elphaba in Germany and London :x
i went into the city just to meet her before her show. she was so nice, and i'm super happy i got to meet her. She's so talented.

Gotta love Willemijn!! She's so humble & kind. And an amzing Elphaba. Lucky you for seeing her on Broadway! Thanx for the interview. Love it!
Thanks for the great interview. I love Willemijn!! She is incredible and seems like such a genuine and lovely person. I wish she was staying on Broadway longer and I really really hope she comes to Australia soon!!!

Thank you so much!!! Such an amazing interview. Love Willemijn. Can not wait to learn what she will do next, too bad she didn´t said but it surely will be awesome.

Can you copy and paste the link to her FB page? I tried and could only only find a fan-based page. It wasn't her actual page.
I think that is her only page

I love how she starts leaning farther and farther away -- just interesting! I'm from TX and we all get close too, but some people are put off by it!
12:12 There's a letter from a Dutch fan on the door! How nice :D (for English people: it says good luck) And there's another one in the back, but I can't read it.

In a recent interview she said that she will be almost 1 year in West End.
I tried to find it and I found it on Amazon (but my uncle won't by it for me), and I found out that I can download it online on your computer (my computer is busted) so I'm using my iPod to do everything including UA-cam! So yeah.........
Oh, I forgot to ask you, do you have any plans on coming back to the states for the Wicked 10th anniversary performance on Wednesday October 30th?
I've been doing it for over 5 years and it's just gone from one thing to the next xxx
You should come to her London debut ;)!!

She means an album of her OWN music...not Wicked xxx
Really?! That would be amazing! But in Dutch would be even better, because we don't have a cast album :(
No No-she means her own album, her own music -not a Wicked album x
I too wonder if she has a nickname, but I´m not sure she would like Willy ^^ Maybe Wille.
This is so weird! In her British interviews, she has a British accent but here she doesn't I wonder witch accent is just an act. Still adore her though.
+TheNancyc1 presumably both of them are an act. her natural accent is likely to be dutch.
+TheNancyc1 Many dutch people learn english in schools with british tapes! My best friend from the Netherlands has a bit of a british accent in english!
the dressing room you were in is now in the process of being remodeled into more women's restrooms. as a result Elphaba now has the Wizard's old dressing room and they have moved the wizard's dressing room upstairs
obviously hasn't seen Louise
And the secret was... she'll be the new LONDON Elphie :)
such a shame she has to cut her run short in London.
Even though Stephanie J Block was the original Elphaba!! Fyi
There's always the german one x
LOL-no-an album of her own songs...totally separate to Wicked xxx
LOL-too late x
Thanks :D x
