Psalm 32:8-9 is David quoting God. God is the one who instructs and teaches us. Think of it like a preacher who suddenly quotes a scripture during a sermon. Most of the sermon is the revelation he received but the scripture is the evidence and the basis of his revelation. Though David is speaking, verses 8 and 9 are God's words. The space between the stanzas 8-9 vs 10-12 also denote that they are separate thoughts.

I think David’s eye signifies confidence in his counsel and teaching. Confidence that through his instruction he will be there to guide you and align you so you don’t go too far off the path.
The same as a mentor or teacher ensures the student stays on track.

David is writing the words God gave to him when David was in need of forgiveness through repentance, is he not? God, not David, promises to instruct, teach, and counsel. God promises that His eye watches over us as we walk in His ways. Not David's creepy eye lol.

Haha that’s what I had thought but that transition from David to God is too abrupt almost with no warning or sign to let us know the Lord is now talking. Maybe it is David speaking on behalf of God? 🤔

I came across this video because I was asking the same question whether it is referring to God or David, agree that it is too abrupt of a change from David to God....and it would mean differently when you know who's the one speaking. Logically speaking it sounded like God and almost everyone automatically agree that it is God speaking, but is it true?

Function of Law - restraint from sinful act
Freedom vs submission, worthy life with direction or wasted life
Wisdom and understand - believe in word and follow
This is part one of the gospel. Baptism of water. But it is not enough for there is no acceptance of Christ. Baptism of Holy Spirit. We have.

Thank you! I’m loving your bible studies. As a new born again Christian, could you please tell me where to start when reading the bible? Not sure if you’ve done a video on this or not? I’m just not sure if I should start from the very beginning? Excuse my ignorance 🙏🏻

I have a question, I was raised saying this, 'In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit Amen', how do you explain what that means in your young wisdom?

The "bit and bridle" of v9 speak to God's chastisement of the one who is stubborn. Bit and bridle force the horse and mule under the command of the owner/rider. David encourages the reader not to be stubborn against God's leadership but to trust God's guidance and to be obedient willingly by surrendering to His authority. Those who do not surrender will be chastised because God chastens those He loves. In a nutshell, trust God's leading, submit to His authority, and don't try to do your own thing. Prov. 3:5-6 backs this up.

My sharing. Psalm is the constant conflict between flesh and spirit, Paul talk about. Jesus switch from the mindset of self-reliance to total reliance on God in faith and let Holy Spirit to fight for us as a way of successful life.

5:50 the eye is saying that David will use his intuition to relay the message because everyone cannot learn the same way and is not at the same level of comprehension. If it is his book they are reading that is the best he can do. If it’s someone telling him what the book is saying, that’s his best. If it’s face to face, one on one, more focused. If it’s a group, and you’re in the very back or very front. If you are eager or forced. It’s about level of openness to gods will. Subconscious motives and drive. Momentum. Near or far, he can teach you but you have to show up.

I think there is a deeper message behind the bit and bridle. The bit and bridle are the analogy.
