    The most important is still, the reliability... and in our 50+ TM-T88V, the half of them failed on the print head within 2-3 years (big quality problem, cleaning does not solve the problem) ...The legacy models (mainly TM-88II and III) lasted forever... (10 years+++) So they are cheaping on this part for this model....

    The Epson TM-T88V is the latest model in Epson's proven TM-T88 line of thermal receipt printers.

    Nice Video. I think the TM-T88V is current the best POS Printer of the World. Only the Price for the W-LAN Version is very heavy.

    Can the TM-T20 print from a website (as a receipt)? I ask because my POS is online as a website. Thanks. Also using Windows XP.

    • @POSGuys
      @POSGuys  10 років тому

      The answer is yes and no because really, it depends on the software you are using. In this case the software you are using is a web POS service. Imagine you have the TM-T20 plugged into your computer which is running Windows XP. The Epson TM-T20 does have driver support for Windows XP so the computer and the printer can talk to each other. Now the printer simply sits and waits for the computer to tell it to do something. In this case we want the computer to tell the TM-T20 to print a receipt.
      This part is where the computer’s software takes over. If the web POS service (your software) is set up to email online receipts then the TM-T20 will never receive the message to print. If the software is set up to print receipts then it would likely be a matter of telling your software to use the TM-T20 printer. I suggest checking your web POS service settings to see if there is a printer configuration option. If there isn’t, give the software’s customer service a call and ask them if that is something they plan to add in the future.
      If they don’t offer printed receipts and you need to upgrade feel free to take a look at our POSGuys systems. posguys.com/retail-pos-system_39 They’re easy to use, have no monthly fees, and include POSGuys support. Thanks for the question, I hope this answer helps solve your problem.

      POSGuys.com Sorry, i will rephrase my question. I'm using Google Chrome to view my receipts. My POS is browser base. Like an online shopping cart.

    • @POSGuys
      @POSGuys  10 років тому

      Dean Wilson The answer is the same. It would depend on
      whether or not your online shopping cart supported printing receipts to a
      receipt printer. Usually a cart will let you view receipts and send them to any
      printer. Your cart/browser tells the printer how the printed receipt should
      look. Thermal receipt printers have special formatting needs (the printing
      width is restricted to roughly 40 characters) so it may or may not look as
      expected. If you want to test it out download and install the Epson TM-T20
      windows drivers
      posguyslocal/receipt-pos-printer_12/Epson-ReadyPrint-T20_1034/ and try
      doing a print preview.

      Dean Wilson I got the guys at Epson to run some tests for me and they can print my receipts from my online website and they look perfect via the T20. So this is perfect.

    HELLO !! My printer TM-M20II NOT OPEN THE CASH DRAWER, 2 and 5 PINES to open configured. CAN YOU HELP ME ?

    The specs says TM-T88V get 300mm/sec. The T20 at 150mm/sec. In the video, the T88V is done in just about 4 seconds. The T20 took almost 12 seconds? Either the printers are not configured properly or the Epson is lying.

    • @POSGuys
      @POSGuys  10 років тому

      Good catch. We believe the time difference is a result of the T88V's data buffering capabilities. The test receipt had heavy black bars of information which slowed the T20 down. We attempted to reproduce this test exactly as it was first performed years ago but unfortunately the software has since changed their demo receipt and the T20 printer has been replaced with a newer model. All that being said we did repeat the test with the TM-T88V and the new TM-T20II with just a plain text receipt. You can check that video out here. ua-cam.com/video/CfpTwQVxLjg/v-deo.html

    Can any one know how to print multiple copies from EPSON TM-T88V printer using Retail POS ax 2012 R3?

    There's nothing on changing the print ribbon

    • @POSGuys
      @POSGuys  9 років тому

      Manoj Swearingen These two printers use direct thermal printing and so there is no print ribbon involved. The printhead heats up the receipt paper and the paper responds to the heat by turning black. Thermal receipt printers are great for retail store use but one thing to remember is that you will need to buy thermal paper instead of plain. We sell ours separately to keep them from getting mixed up.
