    I don't understand why there have been a number of negative comments made about Lee in recent videos. He's a great player and very knowledgable on a variety of different brands. I can understand why some might be bothered by his over use of "yeah" but I think it's a simple case of Lee not being used to presenting and is something that will improve with time as he becomes more comfortable in front of the camera

      They both do a good job.They guy on the right is pretty funky. I wish Fender wasn't so "vintage incorrect" with the spagetti logo on the jazz bass. They never existed.

      Lee is awesome man. Bugger the people lol... But if James Hetfield says "yeah" it is just so cool. Lee is a great bassist and he knows his onions. Keep up the fingers Lee and stuff the people.

    Guys - Totally wrong on the the Elite's PassiveTone control.
    You've got stacked knobs, the lowest, big knob is your classic passive tone control and does nothing in active mode. Similarly the other tone controls (stacked high/bass, mid on top of the passive tone) only work on the active.
    Cheers!

    I'd love to see a challenge video with either these guys or the Chappers and Capt pair where they try to put together a gigging bass rig on the cheap (say 500 or 1000?). The high wattage requirements in bass gear could definitely make it interesting.

      izziOnBass A few days ago I played the 5 string Elite, Deluxe, and Professional basses back to back, maple and rosewood. I loved the Deluxe and Professional. I felt overwhelmed by the Elite. It's obviously a great bass, but the Deluxe was more comfortable with just as many options. The professional was comfortable and honestly I couldn't tell the difference between the neck profiles or the radiuses (radii for the Latin people). I'm going back for the Professional 5 in a few days.

  • @Draknareth

    The tone does work in passive mode, when the active circuit is switched on the passive tone becomes dormant and you have bass, mid and treble.

    • @MacXpert74
      @MacXpert74 7 років тому

      Yes I was going to say the same thing. I think he's confused because the Bass, Midrange and Treble knobs don't work in passive mode. But bottom ring of the stacked midrange knob is actually the passive tone control. This ring has no function in the active mode, but works like the normal tone knob on a standard Jazz bass.

    Know one guy ex pit and recording player who has just ordered a couple of Harley-Benton basses out of curiosity to see what he got for 60 quid apiece with free return for a fretless and a fretted jazz bass, he is now gigging them with a local band and pleased as punch, says at that price he can write one off after a few gigs and they play great.

Also the MIM typically have more gain but much less defined/more muddy tone I’ve found compared to any of the American stock pups. Whether you prefer that is personal taste, but I guarantee you will hear the difference in a live setting.
