Hello and thank you for watching our video about what to do in Marseille!
0:00 Intro
The oldest city in France, Marseille boasts a distinct culture and a unique multicultural ambience that has been forged by centuries of interaction with people and traditions from faraway lands. This is because, since ancient times when the Greeks founded Marseille and named it Massalia, the capital of Provence has been a major trading centre and still remains the main commercial port of France.
Often underrated, Marseille is worth a visit either as a standalone city break or as part of a road trip across the dreamy region of Provence. In this video, we’re showing you what to do in Marseille if you decide to spend a couple of days in this sunny corner of Southern France.

I’ve been to Marseille on October 2022. As a tourist, you have to be smart around any city, and Marseille is no different. It’s one of my favorite French cities and I definitely want to go back there someday.
Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷
We couldn't agree more! As travellers, we need to use our common sense at all times. We'd love to go back and see more of the Provence region too.
I stay 2 weeks and I just come back from Marseille what a beautiful city and nice weather.
Marseille is pretty indeed and we're glad you enjoyed the weather! Thanks for your comment!
We’re just returned from several weeks in Southern France. I’d skip Marseille and if you’re going to go. Go during the day.
Marseille looks really nice, would love to visit this part of France ☺
Thanks for your comment! Marseille and the South of France in general is well worth a visit!

I had an uncle who lived in Marseille prior to coming to the United States.
We're sure you've heard a lot of stories about Marseille then!
I am planning on staying in Marseille where is the best part of marseille to stay in? From this video it seems like the old port.
We stayed in the neighbourhood of Le Panier, near the Old Port, and we liked it a lot 🙂
The port area is fine during the day time. You’d never think that you’re in France.
Going to Marseille by the end of March. Any idea what the weather is gonna be like?
Hi, thanks for your comment! Unfortunately, we've never been to Marseille in March but we believe the weather will be pleasant - with the occasional rain. So, make sure you pack layers and a jacket!
