Merry Christmas 🎄! The cardigan for your sister looks fantastic. I love the idea of wrapping an in-progress piece- I've done it myself and think it's hilarious. Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Christmas knits give me usually so much stress! This time I only had to finish socks for my cousin and still couldn't! My mother was visiting, December is so busy. Every year I promised myself to never gift knit again, and this year was for sure the last one. Thank you very much for this video and Merry Christmas 🎄
My bestie and I make our own goals just for a fun challenge. The first year we did a challenge to knit one of each type of object Sweater/Top, Household/stuffy, Socks, etc. We came up with I think 6 or 7 categories and added a goal to finish anything we had on our needles from any time before that year (these could be over lapped. This year we decided to make more smaller goals but more that could over lap. So we did a best friend assigned project (we picked things we knew the other person wanted to knit but maybe had not picked for themselves yet), oldest queued project, oldest stashed yarn and 3 random spins from a knitting spinner. We also had stash down goal to try to be at a net zero gain this year in stash. I think next year will be a random drawing for project from an and maybe something else we have not fully decided. It’s been fun. Coming up with them and naming the goal and working on them together. We try not to take it too seriously.
I’m probably far, far too late with this comment, considering you filmed this nearly a week ago, but… my lazy alternative to knitting the entire button band early: print out a photo of the FO, and include it with the WIP. Maybe next time (if there is one)? Good luck getting this done!
2025 I want to make corrections to the first garments I made. My first swester, the neck is just a hair too tight. I want to correct that so I eser it more. I have one that I want another inch or so on the sleeves, etc.
You can knit a double knit button band as the sweater; however, it can complicate things and I personally would not be willing to attempt it with any stitch other than stockinette. The cardigan is turning out beautifully. 😍
@@AliMakesEverythingexactly! especially with brioche its super easy, as you need two rows to create a complete stitch anyways. For example, the November Jacket by Petite Knit uses this technique
I think my biggest crafty resolution for the new year is to pretty much fully work from stash and only buy new yarn if it's absolutely necessary. I already have accumulated so much and this way I will need to be extra creative. I also have a habit of completely forgetting about resolutions whenever it suits me, so let's see if and for how long I can make this work ;) #hooksandneedlesresolutions
Hearing you add up your project costs makes me realize that actually calculating mine probably *should* be my resolution 😂 But in a related way I have mountains of yarn that, surprisingly, all does have projects attached. So my goal is to knit all next year without actually buying any more yarn! #hooksandneedlesresolutions
Once my wrist fully heals(I broke it last Sunday roller skating 😅), I plan to complete the Master Hand Knitting Program through the TKGA. I’ve wanted to do this for a couple of years and think it’s time to follow my passions! #HooksAndNeedlesResolution
#HooksAndNeedlesResolution. I’ve set knitting goals in the past. Last year was related to using stash, the year before was to do the Grocery Girls monthly sock theme. I ended up knitting 15 pairs that year! I haven’t decided anything for 2025 yet, but am thinking on it 🤔
I don't really have any new New Year's resolutions, still knitting my stash like last year. As much as the new year is exciting, I don't like waiting for a specific day to start a new resolution, it puts too much pressure on. I just start whenever. #hooksandneedlesresolutions
#hooksandneedlesresolution. I am not on IG. Funny you should ask this question . I just made an entry in my notes app for 2025 regarding why type of projects I want to work on.

Your cardigan for your sister is gorgeous! Also looking forward to seeing your next project (colors used)! 🎉
Beautiful cardigan and gift. Good luck with finishing … it is stunning!

No plans. Working on baby blanket and Ankers sweater.

Interesting, I might have to look into this idea for next time and see if it feels worth it!

AHH! That’s a huge accomplishment, congratulations! 🥳 What a perfect cozy knit to wear on Christmas morning 😍

I don’t make life resolutions, but I plan knitting for the new year. #HooksAndNeedlesResolution
#hooksandneedlesresolution I like having loose goals! My 2025 knitting goal is to get something off the needles before starting a new project.

Tell your sister it’s a Hanukkah present and buy yourself 8 extra days!
Good luck on your sister’s cardigan. Please include me in the draw for #hooksandneedlesresolution
