Istanbul City Balat looks very beautiful in the winter season

Balat is a modest area with colorful houses and narrow stone-paved streets. Trendy cafes and modern galleries share the same streets as the neighborhood's old-style grocery stores. Structures such as the basilica of the Ecumenical Greek Patriarchate, synagogues and Byzantine churches reflect the cosmopolitan history of the region, which is home to Jewish, Greek and Armenian communities. There are golden mosaics and colorful frescoes in the Kariye Museum
