Why would a company seek an interview same day after submission then the feedback is your experience?! The resume tells you everything you need to know! Plus I got along great with both interviewers... I was stumped! I asked the recruiter for more specific feedback from the not so right 'experience'. I'll see what's up shortly hopefully. The recruiter wanted me to list bullet points to change their minds yet I thought that would have been desperate. He probably wanted that commish!
Companies vary in reasoning regarding when and why interviews are scheduled after information is submitted. I may be tied to the need for filling the role quickly. Good idea to follow up soon for next steps. Thanks for visiting the Career Success Channel.
5:00 - I called and asked for feedback a couple years ago of why a company didn't hire me after my interview and what I can do to better in my interview chances with other companies. The girl who interviewed me was tongue tied and had literally nothing to tell me. She said they picked another candidate, but had no clue as to why she picked that person over me. A total waste of my time. I haven't asked that question since.
I'm sorry that you had such a poor experience. I would challenge you to ask the question again if you come across the situation. Someone else may handle such a beneficial question better.
Thank you for your content! I have never asked for feedback before... I will definitely keep that in mind for my next interview. I just stumbled across your video... My question to you is, what if the company does not reach out to you at all to officially "reject" you? How should one request feedback? Because that was not highlighted in your video post.😕
Hello and thank you for visiting the Channel. The JTC team is pleased that you found video content which can be helpful. Here an additional video reference that addresses your question: When And How To Follow-Up After An Interview: ua-cam.com/video/5-MZuYCkweY/v-deo.html. Wishing you the best ahead, and we encourage you to feel free to use our Career Success Channel at any time.
Thank you for reaching out and for visiting our Career Channel. It is very appropriate to send a thank-you email or letter after an interview. It demonstrates your continued interest in the role.
I recently was rejected. I sent an email saying the new employee will do a great job because of the staff and mention about their new partnership. I also asked if they could give feedback to better improve myself. Nothing. No email at all. I have done this before and it is the same response. Nothing. If this happens again, should I just call maybe after my email?
MsCurlFanatic - thanks for sharing. I'm disappointed that you've gotten no response regarding feedback, but it is not surprising. Many companies shy away from putting feedback in writing. This is another reason why talking over the phone may render a better outcome for you. The next time you have an interview, ask the recruiter if they would mind hopping on the phone with you. It is also acceptable, and sometimes necessary, to follow up to your first request. I'm publishing a new video this week that I think you might find valuable called, "how to overcome interview rejection."
You can call, but you will most likely get the same thing, nothing, just like when I called. The lady said, "I'm not really sure why I picked that person over you. Just had to choose." 🙄
I had two rounds of interviews with a large company. I didn't get a rejection letter, and when I reached out, they flat out ignored me. Any tips? Because I want some feedback from the interview.
Rene, sometimes the process takes more time than expected. You may not be out of the process yet. Additionally, if they went with another candidate, it could be based on skills and qualifications, not that your interview didn't go well. I would call and email again asking for feedback. Thank you for watching Career Success!
@@CareerSuccess I feel like society has played a cruel joke. I've done these in ALL kinds of situations and haven't gotten any kind of feedback or advice. At most, I only received dishonest short platitudes, but usually the recipient would refuse to give even a response. I mean on all aspects of life, not just interviews. Are you lying to us, workers? Or am I, and you missing something about the job market landscape?
Hello and thanks visiting the Channel. It is perfectly appropriate to reach out to organizations where you interviewed. The video below, "When And How To Follow-Up After An Interview," offers some tips on follow-up after an interview. Best of luck to you. ua-cam.com/video/5-MZuYCkweY/v-deo.html
Hi Jennifer! I had an interview earlier today, but to my surprise, it was a group interview consisting of 4 other potential candidates. I equipped myself with the knowledge from your videos and felt extremely confident...until the intimidation/discomfort set in. I did not perform at my best. Because of this, as well as our interviewer running being schedule to interview another group after us, I felt that I could not ask the "courageous question". 😔 What advice, if any, would you give to prepare for group interviews in the future?
I am sorry to hear that you were blindsided with a group interview when you were prepared for an individual interview. I do not think that group interviews create a positive candidate experience, but that’s just my own opinion. The very best advice that I can provide you is to make sure you approach a group interview as if you are the only candidate in the room. It is none of your concern how any one else shows up or how they answer questions. I would simply drown them out because (to you) it should only be about you and the interviewer(s). It is your presence and confidence that will help you to stand out in addition to your skills. Don’t get distracted by anyone else going after your role. Keep me posted on the outcome!
Before somedays I had my first interview . So in the last i ask for my feedback " what is my feedback? As its my first interview, so where I need to be improved to give better interview next time?" The interviewer say "you answered well, its not possible to give all answer what I ask" So is there any chance that they hire me?
I asked for feedback during my interview -- and they deferred, telling me that they would wait to give feedback after they evaluated all of the applicants. I didn't know how to respond. Any suggestions? I plan to have a phone call to receive feedback. Do you have any recommendations for structuring the conversation? (Is it worthwhile to ask about applying to the position again?)
To your second question... It depends. Are you asking for feedback because you know did not get the job? Or are you more interested in a status update? If you already know that you did not get the job, I would share with the recruiter that you are still on your job search. And then ask if there's any feedback that may potentially help you to course correct -- based on this interview. Good luck to you!
i have a question- i followed up with the recruiter yesterday (one week after my interview) and they said that they were also waiting to hear from the client. I am kind of losing interest at this point. They told the recruiter to keep me “warm and ready” which was on Friday but maybe they got a better applicant...i don’t know... will they tell the recruiter first that i got the job? im just going to give it another week but i don’t know..
It sounds like you are working through a staffing agency. Yes, the recruiter would be the first to know that you are getting an offer. It is rare that the employer would circumvent the recruiter.
The recruiter did call back to tell le i didn’t get it. Feedback was that they thanked me for my time. The job went to a college graduate also found out that past employees in same position had filed lawsuits due to violations of overtime pay and won. Also found out that position has average tenure of 6 month and max was 1 yr. no regrets after finding out this information

That is fair. There's really no response to this statement. I would have simply thanked them for their time.
