Fun fact for you: on Bullet Proof... the strange ambient sounds you hear in the background throughout are all Ed & Jonny - they were told to go into separate recording rooms and play ambient noise on their guitars, but they weren’t allowed to hear each other. So you get this somewhat jarring, discordant yet gentle tones, and it works. I just love little things like that with Radiohead. They used the same technique on Treefingers for KID A.
"Telex is an international system used especially in the past for sending written messages. Messages are converted into signals which are transmitted, either by electricity or by radio signals, and then printed out by a machine in another place. A telex is a machine that transmits and receives telex messages." Like a facsimile.
Love watching your reactions, and your tastes match right on with my opinions - I cried the same places through OK Computer and my number two is In Rainbows. I was so disappointed in Pablo Honey listen afterwards that I totally skipped The Bends… until now. Just listened the first time here with you, and agree completely with your track reviews. OK - so where next? Can I suggest some full album listens to Muse?? Start with Absolution, then Origin of Symmetry and Black Holes and Revelations. Different vibe than Radiohead and maybe a bit pop but good listens.
Nice journey - thanks for sharing. I was with you initially on some of the more Pablo sounding tracks but they do grow over time, especially "Planet Telex" "The Bends" and "Blackstar". It's such an amazing transition from Pablo to OKC - so when thinking about it in that context it is a really great piece of work. A hell of a road trip album. "Street Spirit" "My Iron Lung" and "Fake Plastic Trees" are kind of the "Bends" era Radiohead - and amongst hardcore RH fans it holds down the top 4 position - very commonly - within their entire discography, so hopefully you leave it and come back down the line and get that more 90's rock version RH their best and at their growth into what they became.
One of those albums that in the third and fourth listen will stay with you forever I am subscribed and hopefully I can influence your future reacts….. lol
I have found that with every Radiohead Album there is always one track that would fit on the album that follows... e.g. Blow Out would fit onto The Bends.... can you find them all
yo that's true i was just thinking about it and: Blow out would fit in The bends Planet telex would fit in Ok computer Fitter Happier would fit on Kid a In limbo would fit on Amnesiac Knives out would fit on Hail to the thief Where i end and you begin would fit on In rainbows Videotape would fit on The king of limbs and Give up the ghost would fit on A moon shaped pool
@@DAVECHER damn ittt XD well it was really fun re listening to these along with ya, definitely genuine reactions, i just love seeing that. Hope to watch more from you and thanks for sharing
You should react to The Seer by Swans. It's quite the experience. I think Swans are another band that is comparable to Radiohead in having a stellar discography and numerous "masterpiece"-level albums. Great series, by the way. Excited for the Tier list!
thanks to everyone that has watched these radiohead reactions! i’ll have a radiohead tier list coming soon so stay tuned!
High and dry is probably the song that never captured me with Radiohead…..
And I am a believer
excited for the tier list
didn't expect to see you guys here!

Kid A, Ok Computer and The Bends are the best albums!!! This band was the band that I most listen to in High School.
during the pablo honey recording sessions thom was recording 8-track demos of the bends (which explains why it sounds like pablo honey)
You haven't heard The King of Limbs in its final form until you listen to the From the Basement performance. Check it out, even if it is off-stream.
"Just" has a brilliant official video

the greatest album of time
Nice!
yo weird question, but what headphones are you wearing in these videos?
If iron lung hasn’t woke you up…. Sleep bro
Nice dream is a beautiful song!
Reacting is usually first time listening…. You are being honest with your reaction but not the premise
this was my first time listening to it though
@@DAVECHER you said you heard previously,… at some songs…
Maybe it was my fkn hearing
i only heard fake plastic trees and high and dry before this video
@@DAVECHER that means not first time listening……..jees fk sake I give up….
No I don’t because I see in you
Listen to my playlist and I will forgive
@@Darth69906 what
I think their metaphoric reference to the bends is essentially about their instant rise to fame and them barely being able to adapt quickly enough.
2:52 great image
spotted that
16:41 even better...lol
This is honestly a top 3 album for me, OK Computer, In Rainbows, and The Bends are all tied for me
Heey Dave, pleeeease react to Thom Yorke's stuff! I think you may love it

The bends will always be with you … I know … Pablo honey was a first try….. the bends and ok computer will describe
One of those albums that in the third and fourth listen will stay with you forever

Love the reaction dude! My favorite RH album changes from time to time but this is the one I like the most at the moment.
The last 7 tracks are killer!
Please react to the B side of street spirit fade out, some great songs on there!

yeah I can definitely see that
yo that's true
i was just thinking about it and:
Blow out would fit in The bends
Planet telex would fit in Ok computer

In limbo would fit on Amnesiac
Knives out would fit on Hail to the thief

and Give up the ghost would fit on A moon shaped pool
There’s Pablo Honey and then everything else
If “just” doesn’t fk you up then you need a sleep and reset bro

Nice video man, I agree with your review. Good album. :)
THE VOCAL IS NOT THE SAME

i’ve already heard the seer, to be kind, and the glowing man. and yeah they’re great!
@@DAVECHER oh hell yeah! What an amazing trilogy! What are your favourite tracks from them and how would you rank the 3 albums?
i’d probably go 1. to be kind 2. the seer 3. the glowing man
@@DAVECHER I'd probably have to agree with that ranking. Though all are excellent. Have you listened to Soundtracks For The Blind?
What about A Moon Shaped Pool?
i listened to amsp and in rainbows before i started doing these videos
@@DAVECHER ohh ok makes sense
