The Joliet Central H.S. Symphonic Band under the direction of Ted Lega, performs "March of the Steelmen" at the University of Illinois "Superstate" Band Festival.
Great march.I played it in 1968 VFW National Convention with the Lansing, MI VFW Post 701 band. They were the defending National Senior Band, and won again. They won every competition as long as I was in the band.

I am honored to go to this school. I am honored to be a steelmen. And most of all, i am HONORED to be in the Joliet Central Band.

What was JT's mascot before they got the Steelmen statue from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair? My dad ('37) would know but I ('73) never asked.
