- Could this be where the lost city of Atlantis has be located and hiding all these years?
The Richat structure has a lot of compelling similarities when compared to Plato's description of the Lost City of Atlantis. Could this actually be the location of Atlantis all along? hiding in plain sight in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Not the most likely of places when its supposed to be sunken underwater but there is a lot of compelling evidence to change that theory.

Plato was not a proponent for telling myths as a form of entertainment. He did use allegories to explain deeper philosophical principles. However when Plato did use one of these allegorical mediums such as “the Cave” and “the ring of Gyges” they are without a doubt allegories. However let’s hypothetically say Plato is using Atlantis as an allegory. Why did he go into such extreme detail about the city’s location, the route the Atlantian army took to Greece, the animals that were native to the Atlantis, the mineral wealth of Atlantis, (which ironically is consistent with its current composition) geothermal heating of water and where the main source of fresh water came from out of the center. (which again is is ironically consistent with the modern day remains of the Richat Structure. Never mind the Egyptian text that claims they once were once a province of Atlantis. Troy was a myth, Agor Watt was a myth, Xanadu was just a myth, but then someone swam against the current scientific community and found them. Now they are just part of our history, and there are more than 25 lost cities that have been discovered in the past century alone.

You do know that the mid Atlantic ridge is pushing the entire western section of the African continent upwards by 2.5 centimeters every year, which is why there are 2 rift valley all along the entire eastern section of the African continent and is why the richat structure is now 500 meters above sea level now, rather than being main feature of the coastline ... 12000 years ago it would have been at the coastline

It literally was. Theory or not it was PROVEN that the desert in Africa was a jungle. This is now known fact.
I am obsessed with this theory for a few years now, glad you covered it. It's almost obvious that it was there, or at least something strange was.... Especially when you zoom out the map, you can see huge marks coming from the ocean, like something smudged the whole land mass, from far away it looks like a mud smudge on some shore...
Let me tell you something. For one, Atlantis is and always was a myth. It never existed. And second, outside if the round, circular structures, which are a broad similarity, nothing concerning the eye of the Sahara actually matches Plato's description of Atlantis. It's not even an island.

The marks are not coming "from" the ocean but rather into the ocean.
It makes sense once you realize over 100 cultures around the world have different stories of a flood.
There's a map of platos journey that shows Atlantis illustrated where the eye is. Also plato documented islands due west from the eye. About 200 miles off the coast. Now the islands are mostly gone. Ive heard that the cataclysmic event was there and washed sand east. Just my two pennies. Great topic
Old maps suggest a city of Atlas where the Richat Structure currently is. A map made by Sebastian Münster (1554) shows Atlas, a map made by Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1644) also shows Atlas; Herman Moll (1732) shows "The Atlas"; Johann Matthia Hase (1737) shows Atlas; John Cary (1805) shows Atlas; J Andriveau-Goujon (1856) shows Atlas; E Andriveau-Goujon (1880) shows Atlas... however modern day maps do not. Perhaps it was a local government covering up ancient history and one hundred years later, we've all forgotten about the lost city that no longer shows up.
I like the fact that you said "IF this was the location of Atlantis" and did not go to bombard us with all kinds of insinuations that it really is (like Jimmy, bright insight does). Only for this I am subscribing.
Considering it is south of the Atlas Mountains and the King of Atlantis was Atlas, I think you can safely say that this structure IS Atlantis. Also the amount of red rock debris laying around, which will be left overs from buildings. Good Video, keep up the good work. :)
So, to add to the Africa mystery element....google-up on the map 'Tsodilo Hills' (Botswana). Turn on the imagery, and pull out about 40 miles in all four directions. Notice the 'ripples' (canals). All lead to a delta area to the east. Canals are straight....not a natural situation....have to be man-made. Area is probably half the size of Arizona.

It was NOT Jimmy of Bright Insight who discovered that the Richat Structure was the lost City of Atlantis, it was George S Alexander & Natalis Rosen who discovered this.

I'm not into this subject matter so I might be wrong but I noticed something...
How old is Gobleki Tepe? Isn't that considered the oldest known megalith structure?
After watching this video, I wondered why there were no buildings/structures left, if it was Atlantis, since megalith construction was known.
What if the construction of megaliths (Gobleki Tepe, Pyramids, etc) was in response to the cataclysm? They didn't have megaliths because nothing like that had ever happened before. Even in modern times a major weather/geological event can/will change the way buildings are constructed. What if that is what happened?
It seems like the dates match.
A thousand years after civilization destroying floods people started flood proofing their constructions.

Atlantis is underwater, to find it we gotta look at the prehistoric coast line that are shown on the maps made 12500 years ago. The depth of Atlantis would probably be around 120 meters down.

@@dansedran I guess I did kind of diverge there. My apologies. The richat structure is too far and too high in elevation to ever have been in the Atlantic. If that much of Africa had risen out of the sea at that time it would have left much more evidence. The way it looks like sand has flown over western Africa is because it blew on the wind from the east. The sand there is very fine and blows long distances. There are satellite pictures of dust storms leaving moving east to West and out over the Atlantic right where the patterns of sand line up.
What if the salt residue there really can be explained by wind carrying salt, but... Atlantis really was where the richat structure is, and instead of being surrounded by ocean it was actually surrounded by a very wide river.

The atlantean city builders found this structure and built their city on it.Otherwise,no architect would make a circular town plan.
Roger Spurr at mud fossil university went into even deeper detail of the structure in his videos.
This area needs lidar and ground penetrating radar performed on it. Something has to be there besides rubble. Walls. Bases of columns. Streets. Heads of statues. Ancient writing and artwork. It has to be there.
To understand the Atlantis story, you must dive into the times of the ancient Greek the Latin language of the story and the knowledge of the world back then the earth was flat back... The story says the pillars of Hercules... Where are those pillars? Some say it's the straights of Gibraltar, But there's also some evidence that Hercules was African man, so... Some say Atlantic ocean however what does ocean translate in Latin. Latin word for ocean was "oceanus", in Greek mythology, it was the river that flowed around the Earth (conceived as flat). Well that fact the Atlantic ocean didn't even exist back then it was called the Atlantic sea. In fact the Atlantic ocean was broken up into several seas, some which that just came off the map a few hundred years ago, like the Aethiopian or Ethiopian Ocean, the Atlantic ocean that was South of the equator that is. On that fact there is a map of Africa from 1554, That actually has a kingdom labeled Atlas on the map. 😲 Still today's map You find a city called Ifrane Atlas-Saghir in the same area, along with the fact there is Atlas mountains... still to this day. The map points out other mythical locations like Monoculi where the tribe of one eye giants supposedly lived. Sounds very plausible to me that the city is real. Sounds also very plausible to me that the city is in Africa. Some say Africa how is that possible it says It's on an island in the Atlantic well again look at what the language of the time again. You also must realize Africa was a completely different place back then... Lots of rivers and Great Lake... Was a very wet tropical environment.

I think it’s very possible.Would love to see more testing in the area. A ground penetrating radar to see if there’s anything remaining underground. If they had technology and irrigation systems a head of their time some evidence of this could be left behind.
It's in Philippines in Asea.. the location is one of the Bay in Philippines.and the instructure.. Is near at the Sea..

Has anybody here checked out the Ampèr Seamount right at the opening of Spain and Morocco under the Atlantic ocean? the Russians went with a submersible there and took pictures of man-made structures all over, not made very open to the public though. It just fits the description of out of the pillars given by Plato.
is there anywhere to view these pictures? would love to look into this more
@@dansedran I have looked all over the internet but I could only find an opaque, black and white picture from a newspaper that does not show pretty much anything. One can definitely zoom in the ocean view on Google Earth and you can tell there are definitely rectangular-shape structures down there.
I fully believe this is Atlantis. The reason the structures are gone is the different types of erosion and the materials they used to build their city with. Just the description of it sounds so much like this structure.

according to Chan Thomas in his book, Adam and Eve Story, he resembles the fact on not only the meteore hit earth's surface but on this possibility (or a trade in the poles x equator planetary's position) the Earth has slowed down as much as possible for the wind and the oceans to continue its natural rotation meanwhile the land almost stopped, occuring the major instantaneous flood all over the planet, Africa included... reason why the water washing marks ans remains of salt there... it all makes lots of sense

There is a region called kumari kandam.. Which could be a good candidate of being Atlantis.. Rather than Richat area.. It's a place which got sunken in sea and a civilization was lost. It was well documented in ancient literatures of India.. But there is no scientific proof yet.. It's a continent level land mass got sunken due to a big tsunami n earthquake according to the ancient literatures.. There is high chance egypt ppl know abt this.. I was intrigued by this hypothesis a few years ago. However, Randall Carlson has pointed out that the measurements don't work. The Richat structure is too big to be the Capitol city of Atlantis. He gives good evidence that Atlantis was probably in the Azores. Parts of the Azores were above water in the glacial maximum. He is also a proponent of the cosmic impact hypothesis near the end of the glacial maximum that caused massive tsunamis and rapid melting of the glaciers.
Ive heard a little bit of his points and they definitely do make sense. Theres good compelling points from both sides, and Im open to all possibilities. This one was one of the more compelling arguments but I definitely have to look into Randall’s explanation more
