Fun fact: The vessel is actually not 'heading for the Med' in the video, it's going towards Rotterdam. When you look on maps and search for Hoek van Holland you can see the thin barrier, followed by a bigger island shaped recreation, de Landtong Rozenburg. BUt also the bulk vessels on the other side of the Nieuwe Waterweg river shows it's going in. Just pointing out that bit,!
Very interesting as always but I still maintain that a large proportion of the Industry is as bent as a Nine Bob Note. What I find more interesting is the capability of some of the ship builders to have the capacity to build combat vessels to circumvent the Montreux Convention.
@esysman If the crew of Alpha Nero are not getting paid, but were still being fed and had accomodation aboard, at what point if your wages were overdue, would you decide to leave the boat? Presumably they were initially promised/convinced the overdue money would be paid. As soon as they leave they need to start spending their own money, on living and onward travel to a new job. If it were me in those circumstances, I'd be happy to stay put without wages, on a year long working vacation in Antigua, unless I had a very firm offer of employment elsewhere... or am I missing something? It sounds like the boat WAS being fuelled and provisioned if suppliers bills had accumulated.
People have bills to pay at home. It's not just about being fed and having somewhere to sleep. The boat owes half a million dollars for unpaid fuel and provisions to local companies.

Hello, I have watched every one of your videos from day 1. I was wondering if you could do something about the crew #'s and what would be required to run a ship like Bezos new sailing yacht? I live in Puerto Vallarta Mexico 14 years, we have just started seeing super yachts coming here. I will start taking pictures and send them to you. We have many 100' yachts I am talking the ones that stay in the cruise ship spots.
Okay it's Bezos money and he can do what he likes but it seems like a waste to have a 400 foot yacht with a big support vessel that he hardly spends any time on. It just goes from port to port avoiding taxes and giving the crew a lovely sightseeing tour. I am not ordering from Amazon this month in protest. Think it will make a difference?
