the odd thing is, the guy right behind them holding the starting flag...his flag is blowing AT the runners and NOT WITH the runners...if anything, it looks like the wind was a headwind at the time.
Actually, not long step. I counted her strides in the slow motion 48 exactly and guess what the second place runner also 48. The difference is she can accelerate more and maintain that speed.
Why did she not come back in 89? Usain Bolt set world records and came back again and again and again. She only had one good year 88. I still loved her then but was waiting for 89.
Coz out of competition testing was announced in 1989 and she knew that without PEDs she was just an average athlete, as can be seen from all her videos till 1987.
Because she had done every damn thing she needed to do. She had NOTHING left to prove. And she wanted to start a family, which she did. She'd been a competitive runner since junior high school, through high school and college. Where she worked TWO jobs. While training. Let me ask you, what the hell have you done since junior high? As I suspected, nothing of note. Go take a nap. Florence Griffith-Joyner will continue being a legend while you and your idiot brethren stay mad.
YEP, but I will say that I remember all of the Eastern European Teams who were running and all of those women were doped up and we suspected that they were FOR YEARS. I laughed to myself that day in 1988 at the US Olympic Trials because I knew that Joyner was doping -- I also knew that she had leveled the playing field against the East Germans and the Russians. I felt that what she did was fair within the context of the widespread doping in Europe. A twisted sort of justice and she delivered although I did feel that Ashford would have taken the gold if Joyner was not there in the 1988 Olympics
No, I don't have the other races. I don't think they were shown on TV. Flojo ran the following times in the 4 rounds: Heat - 10.62 (+3.2) Quarter - 10.49 ( 0.0) Semi - 10.70 (+1.6) Final - 10.61 (+1.2) By way of comparison, Ashford ran the following: Heat - 11.01 (+2.7) Quarter - 10.91 (+5.0) Semi - 10.85 (+1.6) Final - 10.81 (+1.2)
but strangely, flo ran a world record with no win. and ran slower with tailwinds. lol. it is so obvious that race was wind aided. just look how the wind is blowing things throughout the video.
