The thing about Jin’s story ending is that the game had you pick from 2 endings. If they continued Jin’s story they would have to choose a canon ending which would upset people who chose the opposite. I’m sad to be departing from Jin, but hey, Assassin’s Creed 2 did the same thing, new character, new location, new time period. And look how that turned out 😁
A really interesting thing is that this is set in the year 1603, and the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi lived from 1584 to 1645. And he was famous for his unique style of dual wielding his Katana and Wakizashi... although our protagonist wielded 2 katana is I'm seeing it right...
Although Musashi would have been 18/19 years old in 1603... so the idea of him kind of being her sensei wouldn't make sense. Maybe just a side character, or a really strong boss, that you randomly encounter.
@@MurderWeaponLimited I mean that's not that big of a deal... He spent his time traveling and engaging in duels most of his young adult life... It wouldn't be that big of a deal to include him in that location for a video game, even tho its not historically accurate.
@@p.gin3955 No... He was never documented to have been in Hokkaido. He spent a majority of his life in Central and Southern Japan. And any other travels made were under the Shogunate's orders during military service. Hokkaido at that time wasn't even a part of Japan proper.
He didn't have a unique style of dual wielding his katana and wakizashi. It wasn't common to do, but it was a common style to know and practice among people that owned and practiced with katana and wakizashi.
6:44 UA-cam has constantly been doing that, pushing 720p on soo many vids, despite telling it to use 'higher quality' or 1080 (mobile app and browsers).
@@Kruzadar I'm not gonna say that it isn't annoying, but this was brought up at their last monthly meeting- by default if you have it set to 1080p or higher if there is time/availability in the processing cue, it will send it to a enhance server to try to upscale it to the correct ratio. However more than half of all the ads available are only 720p anyway, & it requires a lot more time/resources to upscale from 720+ than it does from 144, 240, 360, or 480 to 720p respectively. Especially since your also potentially doubling the frame rate if the orig was anything below 60fps. This is also in an effort to reduce bandwidth & server costs as well. I have no idea how much that costs them, but I can assure it's more than any of us could even count to in our lifetime. The cost of the bandwidth for Blizzard's WoW in the first year was over 300 million per month- not including any of the actual hardware cost, crew, tech support, electricity etc. Oh & by the way Ubisoft was going to file for bankruptcy, (mostly as the result of the new Assasins game, but some other factors as well) so the owners of TicTok- Bytedance, purchased the company to prevent their foreclosure.
The problem here, is that this doesn't feature the Ainu people. The main character of this isn't part of the Ainu. There might be some side quests, but this looks to be a revenge story.
I just think that if they were able to come up and write a great storyline for a sequel they would've... they were just to scared to fuck the sequel up... and honestly I respect that, instead of forcing it and releasing something that just wouldn't makes sense or wouldn't meet the expectations they let the story end on a positive note. And fuck everyone hating on it, those are the kind of people that make a lot of franchises become shit by demanding more sequels when there's no need... and in the end when the developers give in and give those fans what they want but the game doesn't meet the expectations the fans turn on the studio and hate the game. Jin's story is over, deal with it people.
I will never understand the genuine hate people just throw around. It's such a waste of time and energy. There's critiquing something and then there's how most people react which is just being deconstructive and spiteful
What would’ve been sick is if the main character was like the great great granddaughter of Jin. That way it could tie back to Jin and continue his “the ghost is being hunted” arc after the final story mission
I don't think I've heard the perspective of them leaving the game off on a cliffhanger. In my opinion, Jin's story was complete. To me, it felt like he was just meant to live the life of the banished, hunted by the Shogun for the rest of his days. It sounds cruel when I simplify it that much, but truly, that is what I thought
I quiet enjoyed this video; short and sweet, like a nice little chat. I don’t know if it will do well numbers wise, but I like hearing your opinions on upcoming games. Especially something like “Ghost of Yotei”, since you have a lot of experience with similar series like Assassins Creed.
0:00 - 6:28 Discussion of end of Tsushima [non spoilers] mixed in with AC Shadows vs Ghost of Yotei 6:28 - 9:40 Kruz finally we-acts to the trailer of Ghost of Yotei 9:41 - END; Discussion about the game briefly post trailer watch.
Would love to see Kruz play through the MGS series considering the remake but I have a feeling - based on the most common types of games she plays, that predominantly stealth centric games are not her cup of tea lol
Maybe the woman is Jins relative who continued his work or something? Could be a nice plotline. Like Jin was finally ambushed/betrayed ans she is going out avenging him. :)
as far as Ubisoft goes, i feel they dropped the ball with the AC black flag and AC 3. They had a virtual gold mine with Edward Kenway and the story of his son Haytham falling to the Templars only to have his own son come back full circle and become the man Haytham was supposed to have been. but unfortunately corporate greed couldn't think further than their own pockets.
I assume the Frie twins have a comic or light novel explaining some plot issues Like when I played I always assume the brotherhood would have tried to intervene since they went off mission, like surely someone else from the brotherhood would have noticed that they left their original post to go to London Or their Mentor would show up and have them explain themselves before a council
Erika Ishii, my beloved. I'm so, so so fucking happy for them. I don't usually play these types of games, or watch others do so, but I might just for this game.
I assume worst case scenario (call back to AC odyssey and origins as I recall fans were not happy about that plot line choice) She could be a descendent of Jin or perhaps for a plot twist descendent of his uncle’s blood line
The studio put out a blog talking about why they wanted a new story and it was basically that at Sucker Punch they love origin stories, so they wanted to do a new story with a new character in a new place in a new time where nothing would be limited in any way by the first game at all, and they also said (I think) that they told Jins story and were happy where it left off. A lone Samurai with hallucinations the rest of his life is an interesting place to leave it off but I'm actually okay with Jins story being done, I'm sure we'll know some more of his legend and what he did in his later life in this new game Also I will add that I've been playing Ghost again cause I love it but every time I'm stealthing around I just think about AC Shadows stealth and I get so excited for that game. Ghost has a very traditional and safe stealth system, it just does it so smooth and well, but it's nothing new. AC Shadows on the other hand is completely redoing their stealth system and it gets me so excited everytime I think about the gameplay they've shown, I am currently more excited for Shadows! But that could change when they show new gameplay and what they're changing for Yotei next year
AC Brotherhood best, AC Blackflag 2nd. I never finished Unity. Played the intro of Syndicate then quit playing. I liked Origins, Odyssey, and most of Valhalla. The world just got too big, and as a competitionist, I have struggled to enjoy Valhalla. I really should play Ghosts.
I have a feeling Sucker Punch made a massive u turn from continuing Jin's story and instead replaced it with a new story featuring a girl boss assassin on a revenge spree. Whether the change is influenced by their peer activists or it's their own volition, the red flags are there. Tread with caution.

That was not a cliffhanger. That was just Jin's life from that point on. It's the sacrifice he made to save the island.
