Ariel so so sorry to hear about your Dad and your Friend, i always watched your show and even watched while you were taking your private pilots licence test. again i am so sorry
Just saw this from location in Taiwan. My only regrets are never having met/flown and being in country without a real GA program. Jim got so much done for so many in GA. Jim was my kind of pilot with his ability to make things work when others would have walked away. God bless his memory and his family as they fly on. "Lord guard and guide the ones who fly"
Shocked to hear the very sad news, my condolences to the Tweto family, he truly was a legendary bush pilot and a wonderful human being, touching all our hearts and we will never forget! My heart also goes out to the mourning family of his passenger.
I always loved to watch Arial when she appeared on Craig Ferguson and how Ferguson and the audience just loved to learn about her Dads bush pilot business. ❤❤❤. Such an incredible family !!!
The news almost sounds unreal. I loved watching your family and the show. You just never know when its your time. I'm so sorry for your loss Tweto family, all of your extended family and pilots. He will be missed by all. RIP. Take care, Be safe.
I've been involved in aviation since birth. I grew up flying in different aircraft that my father owned through the years. My father and I flew thousands of hours, but my favorite was by far the Beechcraft Staggerwing. Yearly we would travel to many fly-in throughout the country. Meeting hundreds of people from all walks of life. Several were killed in aviation accidents. I loved these folks like my own family. I became a fan of FLYING WILD ALASKA from the first episode. Like those who have perished accidently, it's never easy to understand why. My condolences to the Twedo family and to the guide who died as well. As a fellow aviator, I hope we can find the answers to how this accident happened. Jim Twedo was an outstanding pilot and was highly skilled. My God rest their souls.
Ariel getting through this like the strong woman she was brought up to be. By the strong man that brought her up. Jim Tweto, the legacy lives on. My condolences to the families affected by this.
God Speed too the Tweto Family! Thank you All for sharing your Family with Us on TV! Thank you for Serving the Alaska American People! We all will miss Jim and are grateful for his Life! We are with you Tweto Family!!!
My condolences to both families of those who perished in this. I enjoyed watching the show and to me Jim was a highly experienced bush pilot and it's hard to say what happened. Guess we will have to wait on the investigation. From watching the show Jim clearly loved his family & flying. Unfortunately it seems as if the state of Alaska has lost a real patriarch, all of the flying supplies, humanitarian, and other flights he provided for the citizens of that state. FLY NAVY!!!
So sorry to hear of Jim and Shane's accident. I wish to send love and condolences from New Mexico. Loved the show, but really the family behind the show. Thanks for sharing your family adventures. I enjoyed watching Jim be such a great dad and husband to his family. My heart goes out to both families. Our big aviation family mourns your loss!
We weep for them from Ky. I’ve started to fly from the right seat after never doing so when I saw him brake a cable in the left. Maybe not the biggest of deals but in an emergency could be a life saver. What a sad loss!
According to the reports, after one tailplane was wiped after hitting the tree, Jim somehow kept the plane in the air for another 400 yards before impact, what a man.
Flying is like being lifted every day on the cable of a crane. You get lifted up over and over again until one day the cable snaps and down you go. Jim Tweto trusted that his Cessna 180 could get him out of any tight spot until the one day it could not and that's when his ride came to an end. My condolences to his wife, Fern, and his family. R.I.P. Jim Tweto 1955-2023. 🤠
I am so Heart broke that Jim died. and his friend. Jim was an ICON in the Aviation community in Alaska. Thousands of hours of flying time, especially in his beloved 180. I heard about what happened and I just can't wrap my mind around it. Jim was the best Bush Pilot there was. So for him to go like that I know he put a bigger more powerful engine in his 180 a couple years ago. So there had to be a mechanical malfunction. R.I.P Jim.
Such sad news. Condolences to the family and colleagues. He wasn't just a legend in Alaska, but by all in the aviation community globally. RIP Jim.
Shitty pilot

Kapitän Jim fliegt jetzt mit der Walküre, die über ihnen am Himmel schwebt
“He died doing what he loved.”
Crashing?
Alaska lost a giant. Aviation lost a giant.
