Watched Duck Soup when it premiered ! 15 cent tickets Over priced popcorn 🍿 candy 🍬 and sodas 75 cents. 😋 👌 Those were the days,uh ? Took the cable car( bus) 25 cents for two.
Made a dollar a day as a butcher during depression. The owner of this meat shop was kind and once a week let my granpa take home a nice roast or cut of beef .
A terrible time and struggle for many .If you worked 10 or 12 hrs. a day , put food on the table, lights on, rent paid ,you had a happy family. As told to me by my Grandfather .
I think there's a life lesson here .

Told story of store being robbed and they were put in freezer. Trolly was 15 cents , movies 15 daytime
, 25 cents evening. Grandparents born 1911 and 1914 . Oops, my mistake. I should have begun with, " my grandfather." I've researched houses, groceries, clothing, automobiles, rent and told them, WOW , everything was so cheap then ! You must have lived like royalty. This is not true at all. $5.00 grocery bill , great. The thing is the average paycheck at the time. My father paid $75
a month , 1962 rent for a small house in L.A. First home in Anaheim, CA. was $13,500 ! That same house today. 🏠 I'm getting carried away again. I hope I cleared up the error 🙏
ps All the stories of the good old days and people blame inflation is the cause, right? Simple answer.. printing too much money 💰 🤑.
