The story of Ayla and the soldier is real. He wanted to adopt the girl after the war, but official procedures did not allow it. On a day to commemorate a Korean war and martyrs, this issue comes up again. Korean and Turkish journalists, who learned about this event years later because their ties with Ayla were severed, find Ayla's trace in Korea and reach her. Years after the war, they bring our soldier and Ayla together. And 7 year after this meeting, our soldier dies due to old age diseases. The name of this soldier is Süleyman DİLBİRLİĞİ. This story reminds me of my "BABA". My co worker in Saudi Arabia,, an old Turkish contract worker of Keser Makina company... We've been partners in work, me as young welder then from Philippines and "Baba" as my helper/assistant.. though we have a language barrier,, we understand the kind relationship and the camaraderie as a work partner.. sometime he show some picture of his family and also mine.. He treated me as a son that he always invited me in his barracks during our breaks and rest days. Taught me some Turkish language..He always prepared Turkish delicacies for me.. There is also a time that he defended me in some Turkish bullies in our work...even sometime that our Turkish foreman get mad of me for some work reason, Baba is on my side explaining ,,spare me in any penalties or punishment,,as he shoulder the responsibilities and consequences.. ,, And the most unforgettable ,,,He comforted me When I received the sad news from Phippines that my mother died ,and I cannot go home due to some difficulties.. That moment when Baba,,, eased the pain in my loneliness...keep talking to me though I didn't understand,, but I feel his warmth concern... I almost died in sadness but thanks to Baba,, he help me get through with that situation... We parted our ways when our project finish in 2008...I cried a lot because it is the time that we will not see each other again... My BABA,,, his name is Memeth.,, wherever you are now,,,, you have a partner, a friend and a Son from Philippines,,, Dario.. that not forgot the kindness you shared ... You know, this story between the Turkish soldier and the little Korean girl reminds me of God’s love for us. The way the soldier provided for her out of love and strived to find her after being separated by international barriers, reminds me of how God chases us even after we are separated from Him. How God, our Father, went to great lengths, to even sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for all of our sins, the great barrier that separated us all from Him. And now we can all come back to Him again. He’s already extended His hand and all we have to do is reach back and accept Him and tell Him that we need redemption and forgiveness from our sins, that we don’t want to be separated from Him again. And He will walk us once more, and forevermore.

I’m crying so hard I have stuffy nose now it’s hard to see this I grew up without my father 20years later I tried to reunite but it’s too late he passed away of cancer our last meal together was KFC no one told me or contacted me i even missed his funeral I never saw him again or had a chance to say good bye life is short just one time he visited me in my dream to say goodbye that gave me closure!😢
