5 years ago isn't really OG. It was still during 2.1 making it technically still pretty modern GD history but someone playing say 7 and a half years ago, during 2.0 may be considered an OG player, because of the lifespam of 2.1.
Even though the level's decoration isn't very good, because it's nearly an hour long, you can't genuinely expect it to be fantastic. For the amount of work that had to have been put into it is probably more than a lot of rated levels.
Lets just say... npesta has a verification of another really long level (not done yet), not nearly as long as Eon but its significantly harder. So this is a good way for him to train his endurance
I think Eon deserved to be rated for its unique type of challenge, as everyone can beat it, but it will take an ungodly amount of patience to play for this long. I could see the feature being arguable, but you also have to keep in mind - this level is 50 minutes long, having detailed deco for this level would have been just straight up impossible
