Thank you for taking the time! - There's just one point that you didn't get relayed quite right: the amount of volume & mass above the water is clearly NOT "roughly equal to the amount below the surface", but, as both of your experiments beautifully illustrate: over 90% of the "iceberg's" mass and volume is under water. (Just the outline of the little figure - a very small fraction of the whole ice block - was resting above the surface. - Just as when you swim on your back without moving, - only your face will be above the water, while your ears will be submerged.) Same was visible in your corn experiment.
