I Went to the Hong Kong Kirby Pop-up Store

In an interesting turn of events, Nintendo has opened a Kirby Pop-up Store in Hong Kong to celebrate the pink puff's 30th anniversary! And turns out...yeah, Kirby is also pretty popular here. Let's see if we can score some merch!

I don't know if it comes across this way in the video, but for the past few weeks I've been dealing with a pesky cough that I suspect might've been a leftover effect from me being virused back in December. It's been hampering my progress on several tasks, but I did manage to still record a few voiceovers, some of which were for this video!

There's no Nintendo store near me and online merch doesn't have the greatest availability or variety, so it's amazing to see all this Kirby merch in one place. Good choice with Taranza, he's definitely a cuddly spider plush, though those classic Kirby plushes were interesting.

Seriously, I saw that giant kirby plush at an Anime import store in the states and it was $150, $50 more than in the video.

I have the same Kirby car plush. I also ordered the 30th anniversary pin and Nendoroid and am waiting for them to ship from Hobby-Genki.

Man, the one time Nintendo actually celebrated an anniversary after the near non-existent anniversary Legend of Zelda got, they still somehow botched it up by not having anything in the west for us North American Kirby fans...
But at least they acknowledged the 30th anniversary of Kirby with a big celebration nonetheless... so kudos to Nintendo and HAL... at least...
