Massive Massive THANK YOU! Been looking all over for fix to why my Y axis wasnt traveling the distances it was supposed to. Looking at new boards and firmware possibilities and then I found you. Fixed my issue perfectly within 10 minutes after watching.
Thanks! Sure saved me alot of worry and frustration with my Ortur Diode laser. I used your instructions and after 3 attempts I had both X and Y dialed in perfectly.
Thank you! I come from the 3d printing world and was trying to figure out how to properly calibrate steps in lightburn. Your video did the trick perfectly!
This has to be my problem. I just did my first large burn and it was over 3 hours long (7 watt laser). I checked the results and it was actually about a quarter inch longer than it should be. AAARRRGGG! I guess I missed doing this setup. Thanks for showing us. I'll follow your instructions and do it in the morning, to tired now.....
Thanks for the video. I have managed to get my 1300mmx900mm laser cutting perfect shapes by following your guide. Just wondering if you have a solution for the new issue I am having. Since changing the settings to get perfect shapes, now my laser head hits the x axis left side. I can't see anything that would allow me to slide the whole thing over. I am thinking there might be a setting to set parameters as I don't mind sacrificing a few cms.
I made a big mistake, on my last job I would sit a small bathroom ceiling fan in my machine to push heavy smoke downward faster. I have a FL-1390 48wx35h in. bed. On this new project I jogged the laser head over to far and it hit the fan and slowly and loudly pushed it over a few inches before I hit STOP. Now I get a slop message and it doesn't engrave where I frame the new project. It's off by at least 2 feet and no where near where my wood surface is or where I tell it to start. It won't frame properly either. Oh man, any pointers besides making sure my fan will not be resting on my bed anymore? 😬😬😬😬
After working fine, my laser will on cut along the x axis now (so if I'm making a square, it will look like a horizontal line). I cannot figure out whats wrong! If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them :/
I'm looking for trouble shooting on why my axises are losing accuracy throughout the job. Belts, motors, software? This is a sudden problem that just started.
it could be lots of things. if you are a thunder usa client you can email support@thunderlaserusa.com and a ticket will be created so the team can assist you
@@ThunderLaserUSA no worries, I figured it out and it was silly. I put my little air compressor on the back deck of the laser while I was using my stapler and then hooked it back up to the laser to run a job and the vibrating compressor was slightly rattling the work piece off it’s origin.
When I adjust it for example for 2x2cm it is ok but when I do 30x30 cm it is off and when I adjust it for 30x30cm it is off on a small scale. What to do about this?
I was wondering for the laser cutting if you can add the option to move down 1mm or 0.5mm the laser module at the z axis per cutting passes of the project . With this option the laser beam keep the focus when the laser beam cut deeper per pases the material. Thanks in advance.
no, we do not offer a live focus head. lots of extra weight on the gantry. we do offer full z-axis control for changing focus per pass, per layer, etc... and taking into account material thickness. but that's not a live focus thing
That feature does not exist in LightBurn currently,,, do you have a way to calculate e-steps for k40 laser? I know how to do it on 3d printers but lost on laser

Im having an issue with my Y axis not traveling enough, may I ask for more information about the issue you had and how you fixed it?
Man, I don't know how many times I looked right at that setting and never seen it, Crazy. Thank you!!

Does this fix engraving too? I have 1x1mtr diode machine and when I do engraving the words are slanting down to the right
You are the man, thank you!

Hey I did this but it ended up making my laser move very slow, do you have any idea how to fix it? Thanks.
I calabrate my y axis and now , the machine is not connecting, console home is weighting

Thank You Man. you rock
Couldnt you do the same by going to tool tab and rotary setup and change it there?
sure, you can do it there as well. the wizard is handy though because you just enter 2 known values and the steps are calculated automatically.

tnx man for guidance🤝🤝🤝
thank you, it helped
now my thunder is not working
