Thank you! It's a great relief to see a "how to" that shows "how to" sparing its viewers pet pictures, "someone might discover me & my mandolin" audio background tracks or griping about how much a guy's back hurts or the neighbor throws lawn clippings on a driveway while the camera wanders everywhere but where it's purposeful. There. I said it. Thanks again!
THANK YOU!!!! We just moved to this house and I could not figure out why and how the sprinklers were running twice. My flowerbeds have been getting watered way too much. Every time I thought I had it figured out I learned that I did not. I’ve watched several videos and none of them were as helpful as this. It’s fixed now thanks to your help!!! 🙌🏼
Great info. For my rainbird, I have program A set to run at 5am, B 6am, C 7am, and D 8am. For all programs, I have all 6 zones to run. My question is, between each hour will all zones be able to water in time to complete all zones? All 6 zones is set to 30 mins.
Sorry just saw your comment, turn the dial to “Off” press and hold the off button for seconds…now use the up/down button to scroll to (zero-0) that’s the normal default. Return the dial to Auto all done. Hope that helps you out, don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel for more great tips. 👍
Q. I have this time (ESP Modular) master valve installed right after the 5HP pump in my back yard, and would like to know what's the right connection for the wirings? Currently, two wires coming from the master valve, one installed in C and the other wire installed under station 1 ! I am not sure if this is right or not. Why I am I asking? well, because when i test all valve, station one works only and the other stations (from 1-7) doesn't work! This device was set for something else, and I am now trying to use it for some other irrigation layout in my backyard. TIA all for the help if anyone can help in this matter. Mohamed Dubai
Hello Mohamed, the 5 hp pum should have a colored wire connected to the M location. The other 5hp wire should be connected to the C location . Then the common for the valves should be connected also to the C location. The other valve wires should be connected to the 1-7 screw locations. Let me know if you have any further questions. Don’t forget to Subscribe to our UA-cam channel it helps us too.👍
Thanks Gary I’m in Australia. I have inherited one of the systems in a house purchase. How do I find out what stations are which sprinkling areas? What does the valve box with green lid do? Is that just a manual backup? Thanks Gary.
stumpy1958 well without seeing what’s in the green box, I’ll guess it’s where the control valves for each area are. Most likely in a box to protect them from the extreme heat.
stumpy1958 also got manual start button to begin watering zone#1 then hit it again to advance to zone#2 and so on. If you just hit it once it will advance to other zones automatically. Manually advancing it just saves you from waiting.
I have 3 programs set up. A and B have the same delay in-between zones. How do I set up a different delay time for program C? currently I have a default delay set up for 30 minutes due to well water regeneration. RAINBIRD ESP. Thank you!!
I don’t believe that’s possible, you can however just create a start time for C that allows enough time after A and B run for the holding tank to refill.
If you’re referring to the days on or off in cyclic watering, simply follow the same you did to set it but when it comes to days you wanted “off” now push the “on” button for those days.
Thanks Gary, extremely helpful! Quick question, and I think it’s a “yes” but wanted to make sure - if I program A, B & C, and then flip it up to A and put the dial in the “Auto” position, will it continue to cycle through all three programs? Or, will it just run A? Thanks again!
Gary's Sprinkler Repair thanks Gary! Subscribed. I’ll probably be updating the faceplate to a newer, WiFi enabled version that works with the app. But for now, I have A-C set to run. Appreciate the help, and the helpful videos!
Gary, I need your help. I have a Rain Bird ESP module unit, I also have a separate irrigation well. How do I set the unit to water zone 1,2,3 at 6am and zone 4,5,6 for 4pm?
Put them in different programs using the ABCD button. Then just set the start time, run time, days. (Be sure to leave 123 out of the B program when setting that program up. Be sure to Subscribe to our Channel if that helped ya. Let me know if you have any other questions.😁
My sprinkler system will not turn on at all. I was trying my best to figure it out without calling rain bird since I am a current renter. But it might be time.
my esp is a 2009 everything looks good when programing, I set on , next day off and it does not work, when I set everyday day on it seems to work I tried cyclic 2 day cycle and it did not come on. Do I need new one. I do not want wifi what is a replacement for this esp?
Help! First, thankyou ! Next, we had a leak in our system, had it repaired, reset / reprogrammed (thanks to you) but now we only have two out of our four stations working ! Each time it will switch between the same two stations instead of moving through all four. What to do!!!!!????? Thanks in advance 😊
Turn the dial to advanced and make sure it says custom. (Using the up or down arrow) Now you can turn the dial as in the video to chose the days you want on or off. Don’t forget to Subscribe to our UA-cam Channel. ✌️
Move the ABC selector switch to A then with the dial in run hit the manual start button. If you want to run the timer in Auto mode to come on with the clock the zero out the start times in B and or C programs.

Great info. For my rainbird, I have program A set to run at 5am, B 6am, C 7am, and D 8am.
For all programs, I have all 6 zones to run.
My question is, between each hour will all zones be able to water in time to complete all zones? All 6 zones is set to 30 mins.
No
6 zones set to water for 60 minutes equals 3 hours. So if A starts at 5 am then B will need to start no sooner that 8 am
You do realize they can all be in the A program, at 5, 8,11, and 2 pm correct?
Very well explained. Does this timer have a rain delay on it?
Everything home repair, no unfortunately not. This is their older version. The Rainbird Modular is their new upgrade of this.
Great video. Thanks for the help.

Gary, how do you turn off the 20 minute delay between zones? I'm not sure how the 20 minute delay was activated, but I'd like to remove it.

Hi. How do I delete the delay on one of the zones on the same model as the one you have on the video?
Thank you.

For more info if you need it, you can always Google “Rainbird Esp pdf. manual.

Make sure the water shut off is turned on, and the wiring is attached correctly.
