I noticed my vista had crystallised last week, I’m now keeping it in the airing cupboard between uses. And have an oil radiator on low in the room over night to combat the temperature drop over night. But agree a warm water bath works fine. So pleased your pieces have now cured, they are so effective 🥰
hello claire.. i have a small question to ask. what shoul be the temperature of the room where we work with the resin ? since it's November month the temperature is quite low. please suggest.
Very very cool effects. Thank you for showing us these and for the info on temperature. Purple is the perfect colour for this I think but turquoise / teal would look lovely in this style too. 🤓
Very cool effect! I love black and purple together, too. And THANK YOU for the idea about how to get the coffin lid to fit. I cut the coffin shape out of a piece of sturdy cardboard (not corrugated paper) and it slips down over the coffin to keep the sides from bowing out. I hope you cure your curing problem with a good cure. Claire is the only person on UA-cam who knows what I really look like. hehe
Heyyyy lovely ... ah yes ! I am ha ha and I am so glad you found these a cool effect .. that is a great tip for the coffin mould. It felt like I may need some mould release for it soon too ! they all cured really rock solid.
Oh wow these are so stunning!! I love the black Smokey effect through the purple and clear. They are just gorgeous and perfect for Halloween! Another project well done lovely these are so pretty 😍
That’s the first time I’ve seen you suffer from the temperature. It’s a eye opener huh I’m glad they are now cured fully and now you can chill as I know your house is warm most of the time 😀😀😀😀 love love love the colours in these, you did good girl 👍👍👍😀😀😀❤️❤️
Omg girl .. yeh I was like wait wait ... what's going on ?? Girl I need a heat mat so please let me know which one you use haaaa and yes we do have the heating on a lot but 12 days out of this house it became a fridge ! xxx
Thankyou so much xxx yeh I really think all resins should recommend 5 mins .. literally just 2 more mins .. and at least then you know the mixing was correct xxx
Hi Clare hope you had a great holiday ? You know I'm never gonna miss a purple video I love these, if you put uv on the slightly soft parts and cure with light it will save them for you so no wastage wanda does it to any of her items that dont cure totally and it works everytime xxx
They look so good. Love black and purple and the sprinkle of mirror. 💕💖🙏🏻💖. I thought you were going to say they are still a perfectly usable coffin😂💕💕💕
one thing I was doing last year, I would have the heating on when I mixed and if the resin was cloudy while mixing I would mix it while resting the mixing cup on the top of the radiator, all the cloudiness would clear pretty quick... I now store all my resin on a heat mat all the time set at 26c and up to now I have had no issues :-)
Hey Terence thank you so much .. that is a great tip ! I need to invest in a heat mat for sure ! I am about to start some more pours so I will need to hot bath it for now but the mat is on the list ! xx
OMG gorgeous!!! I’m so glad to hear that they cured her a card for you because those would’ve been a shame to not cure! I’m definitely going to have to try those colors combination and do what you did.
Hi claire, I'm also having with my resin staying bendy. I've used clear cast 7000, bendy, amazing clear cast seems to do a little better for some reason. I've ruined many projectts. It is very humid in PA, hope that is the problem. Thank you for the tip . Will try that!
I honestly 💜 everything you do! I have learned so so so much from you! You have literally made me 100 times better! Thanks so much! I 💘playing with tattoos now! Lol I have never subscribed to a channel till yours! Big Thanks!!
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me where you get you ink bc when I use purple alcohol ink, I end up with some oranges tones during the curing process.
@@ClairesCraftyCorner welcome! I think I want to try it in a new soap dish mold I just got. Will any color alcohol ink work? (I'm guessing maybe not the white, since it acts differently?) 🤔
I had the same problem with vista cascade since the weather changed but I left them in a warm room to cure for a couple more days out of the mould and they went solid how they should and are fine so fingers crossed they cure hard for you Xx
Oh my God, Clare, these are fab! I'm definitely stealing this idea (I hope that's ok) I've always wondered how to get this effect, so simple yet so effective. I hope they do set up for you. I would definitely choose purple as it's my favourite colour 😊 🧛 🦇 xx
I bought some of the vista cascade I did one of those jars you have just made the lid started to bubble up I heard it fizzing so I chucked it out the window also the hardener has a yellow tinge so I refuse to use it now xx they are beautiful by the way xx
Love these! Maybe you can do an experiment with a heater on and compare the cure time? I have been using a portable radiator as I de mold my work early to cure for bowls. Took about 6 hrs with heater until I could handle it. Also a piece I made in the summer with alcohol ink has completely lost its colour as I left it in a sunny conservatory oops!
heyyyy thank you so much ! I really do need to invest in a heat mat ... That would definitely be good to see. I think so many people don't know how Resin can lose it's colour .. and almost go completely clear before going yellow ! lol sunlight does not suit it x
I love the smoky look. I do my resin art in my garage. It’s October in southern Ontario, Canada, so I’m bound to encounter the curing issue. I have space heaters, and can use a warm water bath, but I don’t think it’s going to be enough. Have you or your subscribers tried a reptile tank warming pad under your work surface?
@@ClairesCraftyCorner As it turns out, I recognized Wendy right away. I used to enjoy her videos, then somehow I didn’t get notifications and I kind of lost sight of her. I’m so happy to be subscribed to her again!
I noticed the corners of the coffin lid had holes, how would you fix that? I bought a coffin mold just like that and my first pour I had holes like that.
I am saying I think the temp is to blame and not your amazing skills. After all you are the resin queen.. Going by last year's makes which were amazingly pretty. Now the smokey look is to die for, it was like being in a never ending craft shop. Where and when can I put in my custom Christmas requests makes please? hope you and yours are all well. xxx
As for colours love the pink and grey, red and black, orange and black, purple is my go to colour for everything... thanks for another fabtastic vlog hun xx

They’re really pretty, they look very Victorian. I’m working on a steampunk journal for my son-in-law. I keep watching for ideas of things to add to it. Now how can I incorporate purple, black, and silver…🤔
Clare, I’ve had the same problems with vista cascade, wouldn’t buy it again, I’ve tried everything, printed off all their information but no matter what I tried it wouldn’t work and within a month or two everything was yellow. Tried calling and they did get back to me but I missed the call and have tried them numerous times but to no avail. X
Heyyyy Sandra ... oh nooooo :( I am so sorry to hear that ! I have not had a problem with the Cascade but I will keep an eye on it and go back to Glass Cast if it persists
Wow, these turned out great! 😍 I wonder if you could use a bit of glow powder in them to make them extra spooky at night? Maybe mixing glow powder into alcohol to make it into a kind of alcohol ink? You'd probably have to put a ball bearing in to shake it really well before using though. Maybe just mixing it into resin like regular colored pigment or with the colored pigment is best. Might look awesome either way. 😅 Oh! How about maybe just sprinkled in randomly between layers? Not really mixing the glow powder in but just randomly dusting it in that way might give an awesome effect! 😁
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I look forward to watching what you come up with when you do! 😁 I just think it might look interesting in the type of lacing this effect produces but it could work in so many different ways. Most glow pigments are actually white (sort of like interference colors, which might also look lovely with this technique) so you could also mix them with a bit of colored alcohol ink so they are tinted. You might want to experiment with smaller pieces first to find the effect you want but I wouldn't mind a video on glow powder experiments. 😉
I have had issues with my vista coaty recently and also came to the conclusion it had crystallised, so I put it in a water bath and resolved the issue. Good old Scottish weather, brrr
