I just got the Chauvet one, and either it's a cheap piece of garbage by design, or there's something missing that's supposed to keep the top extender pole from rotating. I had to "fix" this by lining up the bottom hole on the top pole to the top hole on the bottom pole, and sticking the top pole's pin through both. The poles don't move anymore, but now the stand can't go as high as it's designed to. Which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal since it's still roughly 10-11 feet, but it makes a difference when you're trying to light several six foot tall men on a stage that's at least two and a half feet off the ground. You're basically almost at eye-level with the lights at that point.
    ** PROBLEM SOLVED **
The connector that attaches to the top, and bottom extender poles was not connected to the bottom pole. Not sure if it was supposed to arrive that way, because it didn't, and the directions in the manual were not helpful in this regard. But anyways, got it figured out now, and the stand is no longer a piece of garbage.

@sharisses6342 There are parts of the Chauvet stand that are made of plastic, and pretty fragile. If you have to order online, there's a possibility they will be damaged in transit. I ordered one off Ebay, and the shipper did not put any packing paper, or bubble wrap in the box to protect it, and all the plastic parts were completely crushed. Sweetwater will make sure that doesn't happen, but you may need to call them to see if it's in stock as it doesn't seem to appear on their app.

Are the tightening collars on both of these plastic, or metal? I’m in the market for some stands to hold a minimal light rig (less than 10 pounds per stand), but I don’t like the idea of metal bolts in plastic fittings, or metal fittings, glued into plastic collars.
