Very helpful! I did not know about the light meter app or LUX (I didn’t even know what that was, lol); also never thought about the palette having same lighting (and LUX) as painting surface (my palette is flat and easel is straight up vertical). It makes a lot of sense. Thank you!!

Great! You'll see a big difference in how easy it is to mix colors if both your palette and painting are under the same lighting.

Google 'free light meter app'. There are a few, and the reviews will tell you about their usefulness.

I don't know about all that are available, but go to your app store and browse light meters to see if a free one is available.
