    That is the way to start the day. Great video. I fish similar shallow water on the St, Mary's river. We always bring a jigging rod to each tip up or tip down. Often you can get two or three quick fish after the first one set's of the tip up.

Now for the Perch them were some big girls, the lovebug is an awesome jig winter or summer and Crappie love them as well. Thank you for sharing and until next show stay safe and tight lines my friends.

    Great tip about using your flashers in shallow water. I, personally, don't use my flasher at all in six foot of water or less. I use long rods and hole hop a ton. I don't like dragging along a flasher while hole hopping, but I know some that do. I'll let them know about the tip you gave about using them in this shallow of water.

      After 10 years with the old bunny boots it was finally time to retire them. If boots could talk those ones would have some crazy stories. I suppose they could talk this last year😂

    Awesome to see you guys in lacrosse area! I'm from this area. I got some remote places in the area that produce amazing fish. The kind of fishing I know is right up Jame's alley. PS its not on the Mississippi though. ;)

      We have lots of ice fishing yet to do before we're going to think about getting back in the boats. Maybe late March or early April will start thinking about doing a Red wing show.

    • @pjvick3128
      @pjvick3128 3 роки тому +2

      Hey Peter and Dave. Filming for commercial use is only allowed on the refuge once you obtain a special use permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service.

    Guarentee there isn't a perch left there now. These damn guides around here are killing our fishery. Pretty disgusting to see how many of these spots are getting raped by these guides on 7, 8, and 9.......

    • @jakelimberg3833
      @jakelimberg3833 3 роки тому

      You're mad that someone put in the effort to find schools of good perch that people can't walk to?

    • @jmatile
      @jmatile 3 роки тому +3

      That's not my point at all. My point is the guides in this area will pile 20 guys into a spot like this and fish it till its dead. I live in La Crosse and have witnessed firsthand the B.S. the guides here are doing. I don't fault anyone for finding untouched fish. I fault the guides for raping the resource to put money in their pockets.

    • @jmatile
      @jmatile 3 роки тому

      The unfortunate thing is it's only a of the guides that are that way.

    • @jakelimberg3833

      @@jmatile I completely agree. Thing about the Miss is it hoards out of towers/staters and a stupid amount of fish gets taken out every weekend in all pools. Same thing with duck hunting.

    catch and release perch fishing?!? what are you, vegan?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  3 роки тому

      Hardly. We never freeze fish and our travel schedule had us traveling after wrapping up this shoot. So no need to keep fish we couldn't use immediately. But we do keep fish. Just not this time.

  • @jordanfrontino244

    Great fishing video, but those jumbos deserve better than to have fingers shoved in their gills then tossed back. Respect the resource.

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  3 роки тому

      Gills were never touched with fingers. Those fish were held by gill plates. There's a huge difference.

    • @jordanfrontino244

      @@InDepthOutdoorsTV the first fish to be caught by pj had knuckled deep up there in the gills. Then the second by Ryan was the same. Not arguing. Just saying what I saw.

      @@jordanfrontino244 people that know what they're doing don't shove fingers into gills. Period.
