Thanks for sharing, I've been watching some your uploads, like how you go the long way round when working out the issue rather than just drilling everything. Thanks Gary 👍🔨📐🪚😊
New to this channel and love it! I used to work in the upvc industry so can do basic repairs but never ive taken a lock apart. Skilled stuff and very interesting! Thanks for the uploads I'm just going through the old videos now.
Great video Jon always learning from your wealth of knowledge especially putting pressure on the bolt whilst going through the key operation i didn't know that trick thanks Jon 👍
Defo routine going through check list and following steps and reading the other comments Jon think you should make time to see you gp re your breathing are you a smoker or where? Yeah my breathing can be quote labored sometimes prevention is better than cure. 👍
Love the use of your finger on the gt 85 nozzle! very relatable, they should come with spare heads 😂 thanks for the upload mate I just learnt how to take a mortice lock apart properly. Wish I knew this a couple years ago when I opened one at work and some springs popped all over the place, I just called it a loss 😃
@jackdaknife to be honest, I pull the nozzle off most of the time as I find it better to spray into cylinder key holes and then, of course, lose the bloody thing 😂
Of all the locks nowadays... The old mortice lock still provides an impressive resistance to tampering.. Amazing how that design has lasted... If it ain't broke don't fix it... But on this occasion it is 😂
Great video mate, I have hundreds of these in stock so if you ever need anythng asap let me know, proper hoarder with everything in stock. Happy to help!
Great video again, Learnt another little tip. I’m a bit worried about your breathing. I had symptoms like that got rushed into hospital with pneumonia. Doctor missed it when I went in he give me steroids on my first visit when I told him I was struggling to breathe. 👍
Yes, I agree. That's why this is part 1. Because I didn't have the right size lock case on my van so I got it temporarily working until the new lock comes in 👍
That is a good question, I would say it probably adds to it, but probably not enough for that size of keys. Maybe a bigger bunch could wear the lock quicker. 👍
Forgive me for saying this, but your breathing kind of tells me that you should look after yourself. 🧡 Excellent work. Ah, I see the comments about your health....People care nice.
@ActiveLockCentre I don't like having to go back to jobs, I would have swapped the curtain, levers and the keys to get it done in one hit, especially as you had spent that much time trying to sort it out. But as you said, it was not far, and also, if the lock you had was in a visit pack, then it's a pain to then keep it all together afterwards.

@GaryThomsonJoinery ya, I don't like the driller killer approach. I think it takes away the skill in the job. 👍
Excellent video very informative, hope you health is ok though god bless
@05genim thank you, my health is good. I just need to get a bit fitter 👍

@paulonutella your welcome. Sometimes, I don't even know I know something as it's just a routine, so it's good to hear feedback. 👍

@paulonutella I gave up smoking about 7 years ago, I just need to lose a bit of timber and get my fat ass down the gym
Jon I know the feeling I'm still smoking though but I need to get rid of my one sack for a six pack too thanks Jon
Great video mate 👍. Definitely shows the experience when you try to fix the issue rather then straight for a lock replacement 👍
Thanks buddy 👍

@@brianp7022 I definitely think they are harder to open than a Euro 👍
@ActiveLockCentre yes.. A screw and claw hammer is all you need.. Although newer ones are more secure

I've already done the job. These are scheduled videos.
Thanks anyway 👍

Thanks, I'll be fine 💪👍
I would fit a new lock to give longevity for the customer , the lock you fixed obviously seen better days 👍

I’ll always try to fix it before replacing it 100%
Best practice 👍
Please get your breathing looked at mate
@danielwilson1989 Thank you for your concern 👍
Does it cost more to change the lock ?
@M.Halawi Yes, to change a lock would cost more than just a service.
Maybe a daft question but ill ask anyway, does having that many keys on the there put extra wear / strain on locks when the keys are left in?
That is a good question, I would say it probably adds to it, but probably not enough for that size of keys. Maybe a bigger bunch could wear the lock quicker. 👍
@ActiveLockCentre thank you! 😀
easier and quicker to just drill the lock open and change it
@danielpeters3764 Why it opened, no problem.

You have to remember the microphone picks.up the smallest sounds 👍
Cool stuff , i would of just used a hammer to smash it open , haha , jk . Nice work! 🗝🔐🔑
@@TheLockWhisperer 🤣 that works 👍
Could you not have used the curtain out of the 3 inch lock to save a revisit?
Yes, I could have, but it wasn't too far for me to go, and the keys were worn, so I made the call on a temporary repair. 👍

and the point of these videos besides ego boosting??
😂🤣😂 how narrow-minded scroll on then
by the sounds of your heavy breathing lay off the cigarettes 😂
You assume I smoke. You're wrong. I don't smoke.
