  • A 36 minute documentary exploring the issues facing St.Ives and many coastal communities. How can local people find affordable homes? Why is the centre of town empty of residents and what should new developments look like? St.Ives made headlines all over the world when it attempted to address these issues in 2016 with its Neighbourhood Plan.

Excellent - though often depressing - documentary, should be more widely distributed. Well done to the permanent residents of St Ives.

The people running St Ives, and towns like it in Cornwall, are on the whole, not Cornish. That thread runs right through Cornwall, right up to the Council itself.
Incomers with no knowledge, respect or care for Cornwall, trying to turn it into a seaside Milton Keynes, and treating Cornwall as nothing more than a cash-cow, while turning it into a theme park for visitors.
There are still a few local people about, they usually live in the vast amount of stalags being built hidden away from the tourists eyes.
Someone has to clean the toilets for the visitors...

Just to add a bit of balance here - we've got some brilliant 'incomers' in our town. As far as I'm concerned if you love the town and are engaged with making it better - you are a local. I don't think it's helpful to divide people in this way.
