I have three and cant get them to work in 3 way SLI I tested each card and they work individually and in 2 way SLI but will not work in 3 way SLI I thought maybe my ASUS Rampage V Extreme motherboard might be the problem but I RMA it and still cant enable 3 way SLI in the NVidia control panel and my i7-5960X and corsair ax1500i is not the problem so I'm stuck with a third GTX Titan X Maxwell that cost me $1000 in my system doing absolutely nothing :(

Yup. I bought this a couple of months before the pascal Titan X came out. Slightly annoyed at the time, but it runs perfectly fine, handles everything I throw at it smoothly at max settings. I figure it'll suffice for dialing gaming needs for the next couple of years at least, and I do the odd bit of 3D modelling, and it's quite nippy there. All told, I'm happy with it. Still wish I'd waited for the Pascal, though.

NVIDIA probably has that thing where you do not mess with the stock cooler on the Titan so they would have to do the same thing they did for the Titan Black. They were the only main manufacturer that did this so it could be that they got I trouble for stretching the rule NVIDIA has.

Get Window 7 64bit for the operating system. Also consider getting a larger monitor, say a 24". The screen is the part of the computer you end up looking at the most, so is always worth putting a little bit more into.
Have a look at the 8 gb AMD R9 290X around the same price as the 270 in the UK. and the 8gb of ram is always good for maxing out settings at lower res.
2023 I wish nvida made a gaming titan again yes it was the fastest for its time but nvida needs to bring titan back as the ultra supremacy over amd and intel would be a laugh and scare the competition mayhe that's why they stopped it because titan meant something back them.
And even still it can't run most games over 60 FPS in 4K Ultra Graphic setting. It's unbelievable, I can't wait for when we have graphic cards good enough to run 4K graphics smoothly, it'll look so good my eyes will probably bleed

+xDFWN ASVP Nah, nah 4 of those are not even in the same ballpark as how much performance you can get with 14 Geforce 256s in SLI and Crossfire at the same time, with aftermarket coolers made by ATI. I run pong at a nice -45FPS with these.

Not gonna lie, this is getting insane. I play games at 1080p because I'm not the kind of guy that has 3000 dollars just sitting around to spend on technology, and I use a single GTX 770 that runs everything on 60+ fps except for Assassins Creed IV which runs at around 45 and my ultra modded Skyrim which runs at around 50. If anyone here is wondering what to buy and isn't playing super insanely-demanding games, you'll be fine with anything under a 980. Save yourself the money IMO.
I think Nvidea has found a way to milk the ultra-rich by releasing the top-of-the-line every few months. Buy a 680, then a titan, then a 780ti, then a titan black, then a 980, then a Titan X,... But what sucks is that the enthusiasts who stretches to buy the best is effectively screwed. There was a time when a 480 or 580 purchase was "the best" for long enough that a working man could afford it. I gave up long ago with a 660ti and now a 970, but I wonder if inequality has really hit such a sad situation in the US where only the elite can maintain the best hardware.
Everyone mentioning the AMD 34004530948 X500 are forgetting that this GPU isn't meant for just gaming. It's main purpose is a productivity card which the AMD 3450345 X10000 isn't. And they do mention single GPU in the video so that makes this AMD 390x 2 comparison even more pointless.

I think the 295X would acquit itself well since it's a dual GPU card, but there is clearly a difference in power draw and complexity to that setup. :)

***** I interpreted rendering as push a button come back 30 mins later and your image or bake or video is ready. When I say graphics work I include things like working with high rez real time texture painting in a program like substance painter or maybe even photoshop.

Yup. I bought this a couple of months before the pascal Titan X came out. Slightly annoyed at the time, but it runs perfectly fine, handles everything I throw at it smoothly at max settings. I figure it'll suffice for dialing gaming needs for the next couple of years at least, and I do the odd bit of 3D modelling, and it's quite nippy there. All told, I'm happy with it.
Still wish I'd waited for the Pascal, though.

No, the Titan X is the fastest GPU, while the 295x2 is the fastest graphics card. A 295x2 has 2 GPUs, both are slower than the Titan X

i have asus laptop with gtx 980m, 4gb .. its great haha.. but we will see when its gonna get so old that i have to change it. Traveling alot is not alowing me to buy a desktop.. but i am super sadisfied with this one. Oh now I remembered that you got the 980! I know we talked about it yeah:D I totally agree with you.. 30FPS is the minimum to consider an upgrade. From my overclock alone I gained 10-15FPS with my 980, so it doesn't seem to worth it..

Get Window 7 64bit for the operating system. Also consider getting a larger monitor, say a 24". The screen is the part of the computer you end up looking at the most, so is always worth putting a little bit more into.

Have a look at the 8 gb AMD R9 290X around the same price as the 270 in the UK. and the 8gb of ram is always good for maxing out settings at lower res.

2023 I wish nvida made a gaming titan again yes it was the fastest for its time but nvida needs to bring titan back as the ultra supremacy over amd and intel would be a laugh and scare the competition mayhe that's why they stopped it because titan meant something back them.
And even still it can't run most games over 60 FPS in 4K Ultra Graphic setting. It's unbelievable, I can't wait for when we have graphic cards good enough to run 4K graphics smoothly, it'll look so good my eyes will probably bleed

Not gonna lie, this is getting insane. I play games at 1080p because I'm not the kind of guy that has 3000 dollars just sitting around to spend on technology, and I use a single GTX 770 that runs everything on 60+ fps except for Assassins Creed IV which runs at around 45 and my ultra modded Skyrim which runs at around 50. If anyone here is wondering what to buy and isn't playing super insanely-demanding games, you'll be fine with anything under a 980. Save yourself the money IMO.
I think Nvidea has found a way to milk the ultra-rich by releasing the top-of-the-line every few months. Buy a 680, then a titan, then a 780ti, then a titan black, then a 980, then a Titan X,... But what sucks is that the enthusiasts who stretches to buy the best is effectively screwed. There was a time when a 480 or 580 purchase was "the best" for long enough that a working man could afford it. I gave up long ago with a 660ti and now a 970, but I wonder if inequality has really hit such a sad situation in the US where only the elite can maintain the best hardware.

Everyone mentioning the AMD 34004530948 X500 are forgetting that this GPU isn't meant for just gaming. It's main purpose is a productivity card which the AMD 3450345 X10000 isn't.
