Tasili Najeer is home to the Mushroom cave shaman, Speculated by some but most prominently Terrance McKenna. He had written on numerous early human culture based around the early cattle herders of the cave plateaus. Evidence also likely hints these ancestors were using honey for storage and food.

Thanks for the discussion - I love the Art in Tassili N'Ajjer and the Sahara in general - it is much more diverse and amazing than we imagine. I think you may have seen my videos from my travels last year: ua-cam.com/video/qjijttYMAe4/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/6MOCLMA30Xc/v-deo.html (I think I recognized a few images from my videos - certainly things I had seen). I am going back to this area soon and hope to see more older works. I am really glad to have people learning about this art and the history of the peoples in the Sahara - it is very under studied and under appreciated work. I did also read the book by Henri Lhote - and it is quite problematic (his work making copies has been determined to have damaged many works) - a much better and very thoughtful book is "The Tassili of the Ajjer" by Malika Hachid - I would recommend this one to you and your viewers who are interested in this work and the Sahara.

      Hey! :)
No, I haven’t saw your videos, all of the photos I took just browsing internet. But I’m VERY glad that this video found you! And thank you for the links, I’m sure it’ll be super cool to watch this videos after mine 👍🏻
Appreciate also the book recommendation! It makes me very happy when people share some new books/articles/videos for learning more! 😊 That’s all I want here :)
I fell in love with this place so bad, that I actually have a tattoo on my arm with one of the pictures from somewhere from here 😅 (don’t know the exact location 🥲, found the picture in one of the old Soviet books about art history that I constantly use).
Thank you again! For watching, taking your time to write the comment and recommending all of us some new stuff to learn and read :)
      Wish you good luck 😉
