    This people had no idea how lucky they were to see Aaliyah perform., most of the crowd was just standing there, I would've been screaming and singing the lyrics.

      They didn't realize there wouldn't be so many chances left to see her live. I was only 7 at the time, but have grown a fascination with her later on. It sucks though, that she's been gone for so long.

      just because they were not screaming that does not mean they were not happy to see her, its same thing that i would, not everyone find screaming mean happy to see, maybe their absorbing the performance or maybe a shy person

    Aaliyah _was_ and _still is_ the blueprint for every female R&B and pop artist, then and now. She started that movement.

      I think that she should have performed a little more like Britney Spears. Because Aaliyah's live vocals aren't anything compared to her dancing. bitch can dance in those music videos. very talented. she should have just lip synced when performing live.

    • @ltsoul9751
      @ltsoul9751 8 років тому +10

      David Richardson Ummm Mariah Carey, and Whitney Huston is why! they inspired and paved the way in R&B and pop way more than Aaliyah has, no shade, but she's no where close to their influence or status in the music industry!

      Erica Kane Lmfao it’s the fact that you saying shes “horrible” but she sounds so damn amazing with her raw vocals. Haha your faves can’t even sound as good as Aaliyah was with her raw vocals. Stay mad cause your opinion was not needed and is irrelevant as hell, wishing you a speedy recovery babes. 😘

    Everyone saying her vocals were weak or that she struggled to stay in tune obviously haven't seen her performance at the White House, Oscars or when she sang the National Snthem

    • @sandynas4181
      @sandynas4181 6 років тому +19

      Nah she was sounding good just a little winded when dancing and singing at the same time (which btw is super hard) but when she slowed down you could hear her control and how much her voice was maturing. I really would've liked to hear what she'd come out now she was really ahead of her time.

  • @editorandthetramp
    @editorandthetramp 10 років тому +47

    she sang live in a lower register to be able to breathe for sure. the songs were sung in still in a controlled environment which is why i side-eye anyone really dancing and sounding exactly like a pre-recorded vocal. she was one of the few to dance at 20 and hold a mic so that doesn't go overlooked for me. at the time - live the only other contemporary of hers that could really blow (live to me) was monica.

    • @JefersonSantos-bt1ef
      @JefersonSantos-bt1ef 4 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, but to control low notes like these you really need to have a good breath control, wich Aalyiah had, but not that good. Monica was above her absolutely but Brandy was the golden standart vocally between the three princesses

    Back then folks were more reserved in response from an audience than audiences of today who are more expressive about what they love and like because the folks of today have the past to look onto to see how far we come or where we need to go as a people's. I luv Aaliyah then and I love her now it's as if she's never gone. its a blessing to have a media that we can see our fave artists really.

      anjelheaven She has a very high range. Search on UA-cam Aaliyah vocal analysis. There’s a good breakdown about her beautiful voice. Her low register is just as beautiful as her high, with a rich chest voice.

    • @JefersonSantos-bt1ef
      @JefersonSantos-bt1ef 4 роки тому +1

      That singing in her deeper register give me anxiety cuz clearly was not her comfort zone. She has a very forced low register, when she climbed up her voice shined and just lighted up everything. This probably was a marketing part of her style (some girls on Surviving R Kelly talked about the construction of Aalyiah's "urban style").

You Aaliyah fans make the most stupid, random, and irrelevant statements.. What does Aaliyah have to do with Beyonce, and Kanye West?? Not a damn thing.. No correlation between the three of them at all.. Beyonce won her Grammy's, and so did Kanye, and non of their Grammy wins have anything to do with Aaliyah..

    I like the sound of that bass guitar at the end. Made the song sound a bit more grungy in a good way. I think it's a bass I'm hearing.

    Its crazy that aaliyah and her whole team passed away, even the person who wrights for her passed away (static major). God took everything back that day....Rest in peace.
