I think those brackets get twisted because of the jockey wheel working whilst the extension is on high….so lots of leverage for twisting …i keep mine as short as possible when im on the mover…ive just bought the Kartt 2023 super wheel….its low profile…solid rubber with a new rubber recipe..
Fitted a kartt jockey wheel early last year. Can't say if it's any better than the alko that was fitted in manoeuvering the van but it still looks like new after a years use even on loose stone and feels easier when winding up and down.
Save that old jockey shaft and bracket you never know what might happen to your Kartt showpiece…or you might be able to repurpose it to a window opener or something….ideas please…
Can anyone please tell me how the piece with the internal thread that the red handle screws into - that is already attached to the draw bar - is attached - welded bolted or riveted etc - and what it is called. The bit that the new clamp was bolted to. Thanks Chris.
It is absurd and ridiculous that you pay umpteen thousand for a van even if you get the "dealer special" they promote all the fancy trinkets but your Jockey wheel is crap and next to useless and its the main wheel you need to position your multi thousand caravan, beggars belief. Robert lol
Keep hold of the old one, and put it back on the caravan if you trade it in.
That is a good idea, I have stashed it away in the garage before Mrs B gives it to the metal man.

I agree, the winding is lovely compared to the standard one.

When you lift the whole thing up put the wheel to the front.
What’s holding up the a frame ?
I would have hooked the a frame to the tow ball then put the jockey on…..instead of relying on the steadies..
Awning rail protector LOL Caravaners will buy anything !
Too much time on Amazon and not enough in the caravan... You are right, I will buy anything LOL..
To be fair to Bailey if they build their Caravans on a Alko chassis it’s going to come with an Alko jockey wheel as standard.
That makes sense, Alko could surely make something better. But it is a good way to make extra money in after sales.
