Is 1.6 more alive that CSS? I started playing CSS but the servers that are alive are UNLOZE (active on American day time), NIDE (active on Asian day time), and GFL (saturdays)
As D4R already said, not all servers allow this functionality. However, if the server *does* support it, you can change the throw mode by right-clicking (you'll see a small text in the middle of your screen that says things like 'laser grenade' or 'satchel charge' or 'homing mode' etc...)
It's *multiplayer-only* so you can only ever play it properly with other players on a (preferably) full server. You can, for whatever reason, load up the map single-player, but you'll be the only player playing and bots will not become zombies etc. If you can load up bots at all, they will just stay at the spawn and probably shoot the enemy bots as if they were trying to play defusal mode.
hmmm... i guess i have an idea... maybe i will make the CS 1.6 Zombie Escape in Minecraft PE/BE (if you have the MCBE/PE you can download it, and with bot and also can in multiplayer mode) just gonna start make the map tomorrow or whatever i have time for it :)
