    There you go again Casey.. treating the BC8 Mammoth like a crawler. Hahaha
    They climb like Mountain Goats. But aren't very good in soft sand climbs. On my BC8 even with the soft TSL's and Crawler Innovation Double Deuce foams they don't handle soft-soil climbs very well.
    I ended up installing a 1000kv Revolver in my Mammoth. It's awesome. Improvements everywhere...torque(6 times the torque according to John Holmes), speed is doubled and drag-brake was improves tremendously.
    I don't know about runtime yet.
    I'm going to change out those crappy driveshaft's. I had a pin wiggle through the retaining spring while just driving around town. Probably go with Incision driveshafts.
    Anyway....nice run Buddy.

      @humboldtef 5 років тому +2

      Thanks Tom! A revolver sounds interesting, I was wondering if they might work. Which ESC did you use?
      I thought I'd run it through the sand as a cleaner alternative to mud which I dont want to have to clean up. I can imaging having to tear the whole truck down after mud.

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108 5 років тому +1

      @@humboldtef That is a horrible thought of having to tear down the BC8 for cleaning. Hahaha...I'm just thinking "Uhg!". Hahaha
      Man Casey...that'd be alot of work.
      Anyway , I'm using the Mamba X esc with the 1000kv Revolver. I'm using the small pinion that Cross supplies. I think the 1400k Revolver would be another good choice if you wanted a hair more speed but I wouldn't go any higher.
      I have no plans on changing out the kv....I think it's perfect. Oh , I do run 30% Punch Control on the Mamba X so the torque kinda "rolls-on" a little easier like a diesel engine and it saves on parts breaking. And there's also a setting that allows an adjustable roll-on to the drag-brake. I have it set to medium.
      It pulled my 180 pound son in a wagon up our 3 degrees driveway like nothing. Hahaha. It was amazing.

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 5 років тому +2

      @@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 Yeah this is the last truck I'd want to tear completely down.
      I've got a 1800 KV Revolver I could test out, but my fear has always been breaking things so using some punch control makes a lot of sense.
      I've got the Mamba X monster ESC and those new ramp drag brake settings are awesome, makes what I already consider the best ESC even better!

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108 5 років тому +1

      @@humboldtef I had the Mamba X in the BC8 at the Pro-line and Monster X in one of my TRX4's.
      When I installed the Revolver I switched esc's between them. I totally forgot I did that till you mentioned your Monster X.
      You can try the 1800....I guess it wouldn't hurt. I think my favorite Revolver out of all three kv's is the 1400. I really feel it's the best motor for a 2-speed rig....but for the Mammoth , I like 1000. I have quite a few of the 1400 and 1800s...only one 1000 tho.

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 5 років тому +2

      @@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 Well I may just have to try out the 1800 to see if I like it and pick up a 1000 kv if I'm hooked. Back to your driveshaft popping the pin, one thing you could do in the interim is put some heat shrink over the ends to keep things from moving or I've even CA-ed some pins in place. The shafts seem to be decent quality other than the thin wire wrap holding the pins. I've broken nothing on this other than the tiny plastic handles so far at least.
      Are you running 3S? I'm running 3S. Just wondering if the 1000kv made 2nd gear usable for crawling? 2nd gear in my setup is like bash mode only, just too fast.

    No new videos?
    What up...you doing ok?
    Are you going to Pro-line By The Fire event this year(assuming they don't reschedule)?
    We'll be in the same spot...hopefully.
    I'm going to put this video on my crawler site on Facebook "Tehachapi RC Rock Crawlers" if you want to come over and join.

      Hey Tom, yes no new videos sorry. I guess I could do some backyard stuff. I'm good, hope you are as well. PBTF is a go for me well so long as it happens, I think they should probably postpone it so we can be more certain it will happen. I dont think I saw where you camped last year but hopefully we run into each other. I'll check out your FB page but I will let you know I'm anti FB so I wont be joining sorry. Actually I cant seem to find it searching, do you have a link?
