2024 Elections I Former Pres Jacob Zuma will not stand as party candidate

Former President Jacob Zuma will not be able to stand as a candidate of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party in the May 29 elections. The IEC made this announcement while briefing the media on the outcome of the public objections process, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The Electoral Commission says 31 objections were received from the public, alleging that 8 candidates were not eligible to run for the ballot due to having a criminal record or a conviction. Seven of these were dismissed. The grounds for Zuma's objection was his 15-month sentence handed down for contempt of court in relation to the State Capture inquiry in June 2021.

Zuma knows about that, Zuma is a stalwart and he knew. IEC shouldn't be about Zuma it should about political parties. IEC should be independent and not biased.

If Zuma is barred, then the whole of the ANC should be barred, as ALL the corruption and theft Zuma was guilty of, was done in the name of the ANC. Anyway, Zuma does not care about contesting. His son Duduzane Zuma sits in Dubai with the Guptas and all of South Africa's R Billions. Duduzane will be MK's candidate, not Jacob.
